I definitely recommend making the blade taper in thickness towards the end of the blade, that will make it look much more sharp than if you just merge the vertices at the end while keeping the thickness even through the whole length. Merge by distance is your friend when doing the edges and tip of the blade. ❤

Sorry, this wasn't really meant to be a tutorial. More of a process video on blocking things out, refining shapes, and bringing it to a finished render. There are lots of great in-depth tutorials out there if you are just looking to learn blender or hard surface modeling in general, which you could then apply with this video to get a similar result.

Haha, everything was animated by hand except for the kelp. The kelp was a displacement modifier with a scrolling cloud texture.

Sure, you could get a cube and roughly ... Well you can't model! This is done in 2 hours MAX. WITH ALL TEH DETAILS!
