Hey, A lively video🙌! I'm not really sure if it is the best time to ask but, I was wondering if I could help you create a better distribution by working on post-production like better storytelling through Edits, Keywords, think catchy intros and outros, or even some engaging short clips! Would love to chat if you're interested and keep creating good content:)

I think this "sharrows" give a bicyclist a false sense of security. I live in Redlands, California and we have these ridiculous sharrow signs painted on single windy roads where you cannot see the road ahead. It's an accident waiting to happen. There is no room to maneuver and some parts of the road are so narrow it's even dangerous just to walk on the side of the road, because there is no sidewalk. People have been killed just walking alongside the road. We do have a yearly bicycle tournament through the city which may explain the accommodation to bicyclists, but in my opinion they are not doing the bicyclists any favors by these "shallows" except making them think they are safe. It is also ridiculous to be behind a bicyclist because you cannot maneuver around them, and they are not traveling as fast as the speed limit. Just ridiculous.

Roman civil law has been given authority in the governance of the heathens and ( they ) heathens are considered irresponsible and require insurance , IDs , permits , permissions and licenses , don't get subject to unnecessary tyranny.

Waste of government resources. For the same amount of money this cost could have put in a rotary that would have increased traffic velocity. Stop catering infrastructure to a small minority of exercise enthusiasts. If you want exercise go to a gym. If you want to ride a bicycle go to a park. If you need to get somewhere drive a car like a normal person.

Nice, except why did you keep the call button for pedestrians? It was nice visiting the East Coast this year and DC and Philly had both eliminated them, just assumes a person will be there.

It's so nice to see Dutch style designs being implimented in the US. We need more of it. Although I'm not sure paint is appropriate protection for such a straight wide road.

More of America needs stuff like this. You ever wonder why kids don't play outside anymore? Cause it's a 8 lane road with 60 mph traffic with randomly disappearing sidewalks. We need better cycling/pedestrian infrastructure everywhere.

Amazing would be if they extended this system along Fremont Blvd, where many schools are located and most traffic fatalities have occurred ( Walnut is a rather minor street that was massively overbuilt for cars in the past ). But I wonder if they have the guts to decide that seven lanes for cars - 5 travel lanes plus 2 parking lanes - ( and in places 13 lanes : 7 travel/turn lanes, 4 lanes frontage road, 2 lanes parking on either side ) can be reduced to achieve this. This might be the real challenge. Right now, they are improving the Walnut/Fremont intersection, which will also help drivers who want to exit the Target/Hub parking lot but do not want to turn right on Walnut.

I don't understand why you break up the green paint on the bike path. Isn't the point of the paint to make cars realise that they have to yield to bikes? This broken up paint job looks more like bikes are the guests and have to wait for the cars.

Ha ha. I had to look this up because my friend told me about these, that we were never aware of until it was on her driving test (2023). Ŵhen she showed them to me, she couldnt explain what they were and it really made no sense to me that triangle/arrows pointing in wrong direction in southbound/northbound lanes? So am i supposed to drive in that direction, in the other lanes, and follow the direction that arrows are pointing? But, thats oncoming traffic. What in the world do those arrows mean?? Now i know.

Residential streets must not have bike lanes or anything that prioritized car speeds, because they are space for humans, where (slow) cars are tolerated. Also the parking lane (if really needed) must be physically separated to keep the actual road as narrow as possible - that's *under* 20 feet in all cases. Arterial roads must not have any shared spaces, as the speeds and the traffic volumes are far to high. There protected bike lanes must be guaranteed. "Sharrows" may have a role - but that's in between: Street that have a low volume of through-traffic (~less that 4000 per day) and no space to build a protected bike lane.

You should move the traffic signal to the closer side of the intersection to enforce people actually stopping before the crosswalk

One more thing: Extent the middle divider much further into the intersection - almost to the same line as the regular curb. This way drivers turning left must drive straight until they are fully on the intersection, slowing them down and lowering the risk to drive into the wrong side. It also creates a refuge island in case a very slow pedestrian is stranded in the middle of the road.

0:48 You need to NARROW the streets going into the intersection. What is this, two highways intersecting perpendicularly? Are you aiming to kill people? The bike infra is good, but nobody should be made to cross SEVEN highway-width car lanes just to get to the other side. You could have taken out 2 car lanes on each side and still have had plenty of room for cars. Then you'd also GAIN room for street trees, a dedicated busway, and a wider sidewalk. This is a demonstration of arrogance of space. Cities should not have giant areas of wasted space.
