Fremont Police Chief's Statement on Proposed Homekey Project for Fremont - May 9, 2023

At the Fremont City Council meeting on May 9, 2023, Police Chief Sean Washington addressed public safety concerns regarding the proposed Homekey project for Fremont. At the meeting, the Council voted unanimously for the City to apply for the third round of funding available through the State’s Homekey Program. The City will now be applying for a $35 million Homekey grant to convert the Motel 6 at 46101 Research Avenue in Fremont to 156 units of permanent supportive affordable housing.
