To emphasize how dramatic a decision joining FFL is, if you are not French, and you join FFL, your country, the one you were born and raised in, from this point onward, considers you a traitor, and the only penalty for this is death. Be extremely careful with your decision making. The FFL will not tell you that because they will never let you go back, but if you desert the FFL, and a lot of people do, you are homeland-less.

My late uncle was in the legion. They took a load of prisoners from England and sent them over, essentially sending them out expecting them not to come back.

I joined the legion at the age of 19. In the first 6 month you have no contact with the civilian world just hard training, not enough rest, not enough rest, horrible conditions, pain and even ex militaries escaping their hell in the middle of the night. After 6 months more than half of our company didn’t make until the end. No documents, no cellphones, just people living the moment. My first weekend off I was feeling like a war dog out of the leash and understood why many bars, clubs and hotels do not accept legionaries inside 😅

German SS troops at wars end signed up in the Legion to get away from being held accountable for crimes Some were hard to catch. However Alot of German SS troops had their Blood type Tattoo'ed under the left arm near the armpit ..Some tryed to cut it out so The Legion also looked for any scars And at that time The government was informed And the Jewish Mossad intelligence service Hundreds of files were kept And made quiet The where abouts And what happen afterwards remains unknown. Keeping in mind what the SS done to the French I have a good idea

I was 21 when I moved to Alaska. I was stationed at Eielson AFB Alaska. Lived them for 4 years. Where I lived it had 24 hours of sunlight July 21. And 24 hours of darkness on December 21. And it was always working towards one or the other.

Last i checked the max age to enlist in the Marine Corps is 28. Navy and Space Force slow you to enlist up to 42. I can't remember Army and Air Force age limit but, there's a big reason for us being so young compared to other branches.

I missed the Brotherhood of the military, and joined the Carpenter's Union at age 40. It worked. Swinging a hammer, spitting, cussing was like therapy. Carpenters. Ironworkers. Electricians. All do long tough days to "suffer together", build and create. That builds brotherhood.
