There are lots of reasons for cost differences between products. Our differences are more associated with what the product costs us from the specific manufacturer.

Hey guys, just stumbled across this. Great info. We're in Nth QLD and tossing up between instantaneous electric or stored. Can a single phase instantaneous be fitted outside? Or in a meter box as weather protection?
@SameDayHotWaterService

Depends on the product for outdoor installation. I would suggest the switchbox as a reasonable option for weatherproofing. Check with local trades for best practice.

Very helpful however my lcd display doesn’t display anything when dip switch 3 is in the ‘on’ position. I increased the temp regardless (assuming it was on 48) and it seems to have worked.

When i lived in the US i had to change the anode on my tank. I've never done that in Australia. Is that normal? Do people do that here? Or do you guys do that?

First video I've come across on the topic from an Australian company which explains the pros and cons so well. I'm on a 27c per kWh tariff so it costs the same to heat hot water regardless of the time of day but I don't have 3 phase power in my apartment and for me (I'm also in Blacktown), it gets to around 20 degrees in the winter time in the apartment. Is that cold enough to require 3 phase power?
@SameDayHotWaterService
@SameDayHotWaterService 2 ай бұрын
Yes, you woudl require a 3 phase system to keep up with what kW are required to heat the water. Would only suggest single phase systems in northern climate.

Gday, which Brands and models do you think will be most easily repaired/serviced in future? Availability of parts long term would also be a big issue I imagine.
@SameDayHotWaterService
@SameDayHotWaterService 3 ай бұрын
Generally servicing of quality heat pumps are minimal, relate the technology to a freezer or air conditioner. We recommend sticking to the existing brands that were doing heat pumps before the major rebates launched. Feel free to look through our website. We only deal with the exsting brands.

my tankless continuous flow gas water heater keeps cutting off and needs restarting. its only been 6 years, and my plumber says I have to buy a new Rinnai B26 one for $2000, the old one they said they don't know how to maintain so it has to be replaced. sounds expensive. my cylinder in my other house is still going strong with zero maintanace for 16 years.

unfortunately nobody talks about how loud these are outside of a bedroom, always consider where you install them. also the water is not instant with one of these, yes it is instant in the eyes of the maker, but in the hands of a user - takes a long time for the water to flow, then the gas to start up the pilot light to light the gas, and then, as for any system, for that water to flow to the tap in the kitchen. its about 3 times slower than regular hot water cylinders. same goes when you wait for your shower to be ready to hop in using these 'instantaneous' gas systems, that are not instantaneous at the tap for the consumer, when compared to a regular cylinder.

Agree with all that you mentioned. Main benefits of gas continuous flow is that you can't run out and they are higher efficiency than gas storage.

This looks great. Thanks to your videos I've jotted you down to install one of these when my house is built in Campbelltown. We had to go with gas, but I put in a dedicated circuit and junction point for hotwater in the future so I would like to migrate over to one of these. My only concern is while all reviews are great, the one complaint is they often ship damaged units which affect aesthetics and possibly could performance. People say reclaim hasn't been that helpful to deal with either. What is your take on this? Are the new units free of dents etc.

If you have the V3 Rinnai product (came out end of 2023) it is wifi enables and you would download the app to program timer functions. If product predates this you would need to install an external timer to program this system. Would speak to someone like ourselves or an electrician to do this.

i have a 390 and it's been nothing but trouble i wish i knew about this before i purchased this stupid unit. firstly, the unit delivers only just hot water, and the pressure relief valve has been replaced 3 times. After you have done a hot load of washing the pressure relief valve starts pouring out water at full force. If i turn off the intake water faucet it stops coming out of the relief valve. such a stupid unit get a 340
@SameDayHotWaterService
@SameDayHotWaterService 6 ай бұрын
Sounds like you may have an intermittent overheating gas controller. The pressure temperature relief valve also has a safety feature. At 95-99 degrees the valve will dump water. May be worth getting ourselved or another hot water specialist to look at this.

Hi, mine one is using a lot of gas and then stops working even though gas is still left in the tank. Is there a gas pressure adjustment that may have been set too high thus when the bottle gets low the pressure is reduced and no hot water. But can still cook on the stove.....
@SameDayHotWaterService
@SameDayHotWaterService 7 ай бұрын
Gas continuous flow hot water systems will generally use between 160-200mJ to run while a cooktop one burner running will be 30-40mJ. Just becasue the cook top is running doesnt mean that there isnt a gas pressure issue. To answer your question. No. n I dont believe this sort of adjustment exists.
@seroweassociatesllc
@seroweassociatesllc 7 ай бұрын
@SameDayHotWaterService Thanks. Next question , when the gas is low in the tank does the ambient temperature affect the pressure in side the tank? That is let's say on a cold day it will not heat up the water or hot day it does heat up the water. Asking for a angry wife who always seems to be the one in the shower when the hot water stops and I am the one who gets into trouble lol.
@SameDayHotWaterService
@SameDayHotWaterService 7 ай бұрын
@@seroweassociatesllc If you are asking about water pressure then now, gas pressure no as well. Componentry maybe. Colder temperatures can affect gas valves/regulators. Metals expand and contract with temperature.

@SameDayHotWaterService

Some heat pumps can be installed inside though the range is more limited. We do want to meet a certain cubic metre area in order to keep the product efficient. General rule of thumb is a minimum 2 car garage for air flow requirments.

Awesome video. I'm concerned about all the brands that use gas r134a which has a global warming rating of 1400+. Compare this to the brands that use propane (r290) which has a global warming rating of 3, or CO2, which has a rating of 1 (such as Rheem, Aquatech, Sanden and Reclaim). Would love to hear of any others brands that use these better gasses.
