Very helpful however my lcd display doesn’t display anything when dip switch 3 is in the ‘on’ position. I increased the temp regardless (assuming it was on 48) and it seems to have worked.

Good info! We’ve just moved into an existing property with a Rheem Metro of some sort. Is it normal for hot water to take around a minute to appear? Seems strange to stand around with the shower/tap full blast waiting around for hot water to come through

Hi Kieren, I think what you are talking about is called "Q Factor" which is actually a feature. It is hard to describe but basically the continuous flow holds the water back slightly to heat inside the unit before it releases it in one go. Whilst it may feel silly, the alternative is having more cold water go down the drain. This feature doesn't mean you are waiting any longer for hot water to come out.

Awesome video thanks ! Perfect. Changed to 53 and returned dip 3 to original position .. as soon as I put it all together and went inside and run tap it shows 50 again on screen... seems odd. What have I done wrong... Although hot water feels hotter out of tap... .

The point of the temperature adjustment (on the 50 degree models) is to allow for the temperature drop between the unit and the tap outlet (this is the loss in temperature through the pipework). The unit will still display 50 degrees at the unit even though this may be higher.

Mine did the same after adjusting to 53 . Still shows as 50 when tap is opened . Hoping it will be a bit hotter . As reply suggests it just shows 50 still . Weird it doesn’t show the new set point of 53 ..?

Any reason why the fire and the fan doesn’t stay on after turning on the hot water tap?

The fan should stay on when ever any of the units are heating. If the fan wasn't to stay on it would go into a fault.

Some details missong from your video. I cannot adjust temp. When power is off how the digital reader have power Do we need to keep the water running. Do we need to press the adj button too

Need power on to do anything with the programming Would suggest not having the water running Just work off of the instructions

I set mine in summer to 40 and now when i want to go up in winter. Using these instructions there is no readings on my digital pad. I tried to change it with power on and water tap running but didnot work

Might need to phone a Rheem service agent like ourselves or someone else. This product is usually pretty bullet proof.

Hi David, Keep in min that the standard is max 50 degrees preset in QLD. Make sure you are meeting your minimum flow rates and gas pressure is not an issue. Recommended referral agent in your area is Mitchell Plumbing and Gas 1300675862
