I heard about the UP special train on the "headsupnorcal" email list (which at the time was a Yahoo Groups list; now migrated to groups.io). These UP specials are rare, but they do still show up occasionally on the coast line.

All center beam trains are also known as parachute trains, cause when running track speed and let off the throttle you can feel the train slow down a lot more than a mixed freight. They can be a lot of fun to run!
