Actually it is cheaper...about $200...so based on what is required of cineback that is a battery $97, dummy battery $40, smallrig cage for fx3/fx30 ( if anyone one doesn't own one like myself) which is $62 and then cineback itself current is $329 or $337 with shipping and tax..so the total is $537...if i use your set up it turns out the total cost is $328...so $537 - $328 = $209.. I'm saving ~$209...if I am not mistaken lol.. I'm pretty bad with math and I am a broke filmmaker haha...sorry didn't mean to bash anyone and bore you with my calculation but I had to do it for me to decide which route I need to go about...hope this helps someone here...bottom line..thanks for the alternative and for this video. Really appreciate it man!

Hi, what did you use as the cart for the camera?
@JWS1968
@JWS1968 4 жыл бұрын
Out of all the dolly builds on youtube this is one of the worst. A metal track will be noisy not to mention impractical because 'this' track must be transported in tact. Also from a DIY perspective although the tools used in this video may well be within the grasp of an avid DIY enthusiast I can just about guarantee they will be well out of the grasp of the average filmmaker. Far better use cheaper PVC waste pipe for track and just lay it on the floor it will be fine, no need to add extras bolting it together. Plastic pipe is flexible and will bend when you put it in your car, we don't all have a pickup truck. For the dolly use a piece or ply wood and attach the wheels with L-brackets so the wheels are at 45% angles to each other. Use skateboard wheels for smooth transmission.

Why not use aluminum channel so inline skate wheels can glide on the bottom of the rail.
@justbasl
@justbasl 4 жыл бұрын
David Hefner great idea David, I just didn’t have aluminum available to me. Also if aluminum isn’t thick then it is very flexible and be damaged easily.
