Really don’t think fishing from something that is inflated is a good idea!
@FishATX
@FishATX 5 күн бұрын
Depends on what kind of SUP/Kayak you have and where/how you use it! Most of the new inflatable SUP and kayaks are multiple layered and blow up to a PSI around 10-15, so it feels like a super hard plastic board once inflated. I've had no issues at all, and have paddled many miles of rivers!

Nice catch. What affordable inflatable paddle board do you recommend for fishing?
@FishATX
@FishATX 13 күн бұрын
Thank you! If you haven't already, definitely check out my Paddleboard Fishing 101 video for some details on that info: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYq1Y5Jvaq5kjaM. I recommend boards that are dual layered, has tie downs, and AT LEAST 10.5 ft long and 34 inches wide. Of course the longer and wider the board, the more stable. I actually don't own a legit "fishing style" paddleboard, even though I'm thinking about looking into some. They have them now with accessory and seat attachments, but they can get pricey for the Bote Boards and Blackfins. A few affordable ones I've found online are: amzn.to/3WmEqYz or amzn.to/3SG7x8x Let me know what you end up getting!

I’ve just put in at Cedar Breaks park boat ramp. It’s the closest to my house and easy to just back up and dump the yak in the water at the ramp. I usually go on week days or Sunday mornings to avoid the boat traffic! But I think the lake is super low at the moment so it might be more calm out there now. Fishing is tough though!

Sorry for the late reply! I’d say it’s a great kayak for $500, but it also depends on what kind of water you’re planning to fish. Some other good options to look into are Ascend Kayaks or I just saw Magellan released the Pro Angler Kayak which looks pretty promising. Sometimes you can find used kayaks for a great price too.

Congrats on the new yak! I'm assuming you watched my other video on the install? kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYXGl3qYYt9qbbcsi=F__A_b8b9bsJJGN0 It will sit down a little but it's protected by the front hull section somewhat. I haven't tried it on a river with lots of shallow rocks and rapids though. One guy told me he cut the Native mounting block to make it shorter. I've heard there's also adapters that let you sit it higher, maybe something like this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYXGl3qYYt9qbbcsi=F__A_b8b9bsJJGN0 Let me know what works!

Good video man. I saw this kayak on Dick sports Good. I was wondering how is this kayak. This is the first review of this kayak I have seen. This is a nice kayak. I just wish that it had dry Storage but you can at it on to the kayak. I have a question? How did it feel on your feet 🦶 being barefooted 👣 on the kayak & how did the molded in foot Brace ? I have never owned a kayak with that kind of foot brace before & was wondering about them because I have to kayak barefooted 👣 style because I have big very very Extremely wide feet sz15 6E wide ( which is very very extremely wide feet 🦶 ) with very chubby fat wide toes that are Evenly straight across making my foot very very Extremely wide at 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe. My foot outgrow shoes , socks , & boots when I was young & I am a chubby fat dude with very very extremely wide feet 🦶 & toes so I need something that comfortable for me. Thanks you for sharing this video buddy.

@FishATX 4 ай бұрын
Hey man, first off I really appreciate you watching my review! Glad you enjoyed it. It has a small dry storage hatch, but a dry bag would definitely be great in the front straps. As far as the foot rests, they are basic molded in spots. I think a wide foot would be fine. However to be honest, if I was a bigger guy, I’d look into a 12 ft kayak that is wider for better stability and comfort, with an upgraded high seat. They will be heavier and less easy to transport, but you might be more comfortable in it.

Are you ever fearful of your hooks puncturing the board ?
@FishATX
@FishATX 4 ай бұрын
Not really! I’ve had a swimbait fly back at me when a bass jumped and it stuck into the board a little but didn’t puncture. The material is pretty hard so you would have to set the hook hard into it for it to happen. And most are dual layered to prevent punctures. I’ve also nailed sharp sticks and rocks with no issue, but you need to make sure it’s a good quality board.
