I like how it immediately starts windmilling
@nascarsimracing12 күн бұрын
I growled the chopper before i started recording. It usually doesn't windmill right away, but sometimes it will if it is landed in the right position. Now that i think about it, that might have changed with the new 8 port stator. Ill test that another day.

Another standard measurement for sound sources is to measure the source at a distance of 1m from the physical front of the device, on axis with the exit of the device. This is the measurement standard used for loudspeakers.
@nascarsimracing113 сағат бұрын
Im going to try this as one of the several measurements once i finish the entirely redone head ive been working on. Modeling is completely done, just have a shit ton of 3D printing to do and some hardware to buy. Will be doing 100ft, 50ft (half scale of 100ft), 10 feet, all when it is on the pole. Then inside of my garage on the demo cart i will do eye level with it right by it, and then out in the backyard i will do the 1 meter test at eye level with the horn with the siren on my sirencon cart. If i can make room in my bedroom, ill do a decibel test right in front of the horn in there too, just like i did in much older stages of this siren's development. If I'm remembering correctly, the OG horn from December 2023 was about 123 decibels inside my bedroom.

I hope your future is in mechanical engineering, because you have the skills for it
@nascarsimracing13 күн бұрын
@Acoustic_Theory I'm working on becoming an ASE certified automotive technician! I used to want to be a mechanical engineer in the past, but I'm much more interested in working on cars as my job and designing+building things as my hobby. And i had looked into mechanical engineering and welding/fabrication more matched what i wanted to do. Since im more interested in the actual fabrication and assembly work. Welding/fabrication is my backup if automotive technician doesn't work out.

I was looking at Matt’s hurricane vids and his hurricane chopper looks like a MK-1 chopper. Questioning If It’s An Early MK-2
@nascarsimracing14 күн бұрын
No, his is a later MKII just like black darien. The original chopper burned out and the city did a ghetto chopper swap to the 130 chopper. However, kistler park and la crescent ice rink were early MKIIs that did in fact come with 130 choppers from the factory. And they had the eyebolt on them too. The 130 chopper doesn't windmill like the mkii chopper. So this video can't be done on a 130 chopper.
