@nubcut16 I only said what type of manipulation Johan used. He used this to other who do some terrible things, he do this to make some feel a guilt by remembering what they did. Example is the detective that he make him guilt and depress that end up killing himself because of that I mean detective Richard

This was the scene that made Johan the greatest villain in Anime, it made me instantly fall in love with his character. it’s so beautiful yet so scary how he can manipulate the human mind

One of my theories is that Richard might have been drunk after all. Let me explain : Near this episode Richard was the only one who discovered the case and found out about Johan, not even Lunge or Grimmer or any other smart character had done it, Johan who is the smarter of them all, knew he had to do something about Richard before everyone discover about him and the end of him so he manipulated Richard making him confused to a point he actually believed he WAS sober when he killed the guy, because there was no confirmation or evidence at all that Richard was sober, Johan just did like he does with everyone else with Richard and moved on.

@@Kimi-xp2th Absolutely. The anime(1990?) has a certain charm to it and the dubbing is great but the details in the manga just hits different. I suggest you read the manga up until the end of Golden Age arc then watch the anime
