I don't recognize this place any more. When they bulldozed Bugis Street they tore the heart out. It was a wide-open city back then. You were guaranteed to have an exciting time. Every time you left you couldn't wait to return. Now they've torn down everything unique and replaced it with steel and glass towers just like everywhere else. Singapore 2.0 sanitized for your protection.

LOL, I'm a Singaporean working overseas and have to agree with ya. Every time I returned home, I don't really recognize my country, except for my neighbourhood.
