Gusto ko yan, "Nobody ask me for money or gifts." Relate much! Mas ok na daw maging kuripot kaysa gastador at walang naiipon sabi ng asawa ko.

JAM, IF MY PENSION IS $1,200 A MONTH, CAN I AFFORD TO LIVE IN BGC?
@eggsdietdiary Жыл бұрын
Highlights 💡 Moving out in young adulthood is an important step in personal growth. 💰 Assess financial viability by considering rent, utilities, and other living expenses. 🧠 Ensure emotional and mental readiness to handle adult responsibilities. 🏡 Personal motivations, not external pressures, should guide the decision to move out. 🚫 Avoid comparing oneself to others; each person's timeline is unique. 💪 Seeking independence can lead to valuable life skills and opportunities. 🌆 Location choice can significantly impact the affordability of living alone.

To anyone living with toxic family members- I hope yall can move out with no big issues. I’ve been extremely lucky bec my sister offered her place a few weeks prior (nagtiis lang muna ako until an incident happened and I had to get out ASAP). If I can give one advice to yall na nagbabalak, MAKE A CHECKLIST AND INVENTORY. I’ve had a checklist prior to my emergency move, so even though I was panicking, I had a list I can refer to at least. Secure your important documents, IDs, accounts, and keep in mind a capsule wardrobe you can make do with just in case you have to grab and go. If you have a pet that you can’t take with you, find someone in advance who can take care of them in the mean time.

Next video suggestion (whenever that may come lol), What are some of the very important and essential things to have once you become 18, be it physical things like cards, papers, identifications etc. or very adult-y things like financing, budgeting, what headspace should you be in, how to stay motivated and etc. Im 16 right now as of July 2022 (i turn 17 in November) and next year ill be turning 18 and honestly its kinda daunting and very anxiety enducing because ive been planning to move out since i was like 13-14 (yes i know pretty crazy) because my family is just built different when it comes to toxicity but thank god i "woke up" early or have become totally aware of how bad they are for my mental and emotional health and probably for all my life if i dont leave the house immediately. Anyways, thank you for the videos i totally love them Kuya Jam i just discovered you a few days ago and the professionalism in each video is amazing and the way you word things are very clear too and make it easy to grasp!

@adlrvet53132 жыл бұрын
There is nothing wrong with staying with your parents even if you can afford to live independently, you have a good reason. As long as you have a LIFE of your own meaning you are treated as an adult and do not need to ask permission to do things. As long as you are allowed self determination. Letting them know is different from asking permission for what you are doing or where you are going. My understanding is It’s just a practical living arrangement that you chose to save. If you feel you are still expected to ask permission and expected to live by your parents wishes then maybe you should move out and rent even not in BGC. Remember the priority of choosing a first rental is safety of the neighborhood. From personal experience I Can say you get to know who you are when you live by yourself, you might like the person you find if not you can change that person. Every appliance you buy for yourself becomes a milestone, My Ref, My TV, My Sofa etc. how will I pay for them? Priorities, savings, security, then time to buy your own, all part of adulting.
@happythots6632 жыл бұрын
@@adlrvet5313 Yes, you are correct. I don't have a life of my own since I have to follow my parents rules. Most of the time I feel suffocated and it feels toxic. I actually wanted to move out a long time ago but my parents need me since they are old. It's my obligation to look after them. Although it makes me feel really depressed. I hope someday I can live happily in my own home.

I just found your video while searching for tips. I'm almost 30 and still living with my mom and sister. I'm planning on moving out and renting in a condo or something. I have a stable job and making a decent amount of money every month. I'm just trying to find some tips on what to bring with you as you go on your journey living alone. Do you have budget tips from your experience? Like what do you buy in a month, how much do you save in a month, etc
