Lived for one year in a condo. I learned that i needed some additional income on non my non essential goods. Such as going out with drinks and also to sort out my laundry on the essential wardrobe that i need. Ofcourse the fixed rent and as well as the condo dues were some of the fixed monthly expenses. So I ventured out and did a side hustle and even made a great amount out of it. Thanks for this topic!!! Super relateable. 👍

Complete set of condiments will help you save money. Just basic ones like salt, sugar, toyo, suka will save you from unnecessary expenses.

Prepping ones own food is a good point. Grew up in a family that ‘baon’ is essential. Realized how important this tradition of ours not only for health reasons, solo / independent living, but it was helpful when I to moved abroad. May the current generation learn how important this is. Very simple but strong idea linked to financial literacy.

Is it possible to get a condo in BGC/Makati furnished with facilities and not a shoebox for 20k peso per month? What are the best suburbs of metro Manila where you can get the best value either houses or large condos but still not being too far from the BGC/Makati bars and restaurants?

Yes I have heard stories of people getting studio or 1BR in Makati BGC for 20K peso. Due to the pandemic, prices have gone down. My first condo in BGC, a 1 BR was going for 22.5K pre pandemic...it is probably less now
