The more I’m looking in this watch, the more I want it. It is becoming my grail watch.. Reminds me of my grandfathers Darwil. I have sarb 035, and I thougt this will be my last watch.. But than, well.. I have only 3 cheap casios.. kids are using them.. And sarb035 wich I’m selling at the moment… I thougt I’ll buy longines conqusest (gold, silver combination watch) And than I saw this beauty.. Some guy on chrono is selling it now.. I offerd him 400 eurs first.. Guy thought I’m spaming hah.. In the end I offerd my max 680 eurs, and he sad 800eur.. Only 120 euros separates me from happiness I mean it’s not expensive for this rare watch, but when you earn 850 eur per month have kids loans.. then it is expensive.. I could offerd him my wife, two kids and mother in law for watch. I think its a good bargen. Haha.. Maann this watch obsession is killing me. It’s just the watch, but then again.. you only live once.. We all love certian things. My brother in law loves cars. I love watches and bicyles. Few yrs ago I sold my renault clio for 350eur and bought bicyle for 450eur.. Wife almost kick me out of the house.. haha Don’t ever sell this watch.. This is the watch that should be in family for future generations..

I just put a 20mm Angus-J Louis 316L SS Watch Bracelet from Strap Code on mine and it looks great. A little chunky, but it works! I purchased it back in 2016 for $300 or so and had a leather strap on it to dress it up. It's been mostly sitting in a drawer. Decided maybe a new band would help...

I had two of the San Martin Explore Climbing watches; both with the turquoise dial and the Sellita movement. The first one had a bent crown stem and a “helicoptering” rotor. I tried to get that fixed by my local watchmaker but then decided to simply return the watch. The second one still had a slightly bent crown stem and a gritty wind. I understand some Sellita’s do wind like that, but I couldn’t abide the bent stem and, again, got rid of it. It’s a real shame because I had no trouble with the bracelet (as many have reported), and the dial and case both seemed to be finished to a very high degree. I do have another San Martin; the red fumé lacquer dial 36mm. The Miyota movement seems to be winding smoothly and ticking away just fine and, again, no issues with the bracelet. So, while one of my three San Martin experiences was positive, that still might not be enough to make me a convert. And it’s likely I just stick with the one.

I own the GX85/9 and X100VI. Overall, I prefer the GX9. Both bodies have IBIS. Both do video but the GX9 lacks a microphone mic. Both have a tilting screen. The X100VI has Across B&W but the L monochrome D is my favorite B&W jpeg. I also like the vivid color profile on the GX9. The GX9 is smaller and lighter. A major advantage the GX9 has is the ability to use multiple lenses. The PL15 lens is a great choice for street photography. The GX9 is less expensive than the X100VI, even with purchasing a lens or two. GX9 for $4-500 used. Where? Body alone it sells closer to $700. I own two GX9 bodies. I enjoy using the kit 12-60 lens on one body and the PL15 lens on the other. I don’t like changing lenses. Having two bodies provides for backup if one body needs to be repaired. It is about nine years old and I don’t know if any repairs can be done on the body. Both the X100VI and the GX9 are great street shooters. The GX9 is easy to find and the lens choices are wide. In September I found a GX85 for $300. A great price. The X100VI has been hyped by the TikTok crowd. It is on back order. I ordered it the day it was announced and canceled the order after waiting six months and not knowing when the order would be fulfilled. There is a premium to be paid on the secondary market of $5-600. I wouldn’t want to spend $2200 for the X100VI. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

Older sony apsc cameras are so overlooked if people really want this "point and shoot" compactness. A sony a6300/6400 + a pancake lens can achieve that easily for far cheaper nowadays. Not only you get great performance, these cameras are built like a god damn tank with weather sealing

Ricoh Gr is the goat of point and shoots in my opinion. Smaller + retractable lens means it’s truly pocketable. It also have customizable color profiles like all the hype around fujifilm. On top of that its design is truly the most subtle so it’s very often overlooked. The IBIS in it is great too. With features like snap focus and some prior settings tuning I’d say it’s the best setup for street and snapshot photography. Its video is actively bad but these days phone videography is so good it doesn’t matter. Just like you said though you’re getting it for photos not video. Tbh what convinced me is just its portability and ease of throwing in a pocket without thinking about the lens. A camera that’s always on you is better than the greatest camera you only sometimes have
@universallanguage9839Ай бұрын

@raksh9Ай бұрын
The majority of the Ricoh GRD/GR cameras have had issues with the shutter/lens block that cause the camera to brick after protracted use. This is a mechanical issue which can happen to any camera with an extending lens barrel, but was reported more highly with the GR and GR II. The X100 series and GX series will never have this problem because they lack a motorized extending lens barrel. If the GR lacked this issue, it would be the best point and shoot.
