When it gets to thenscreen where youre suppose to have an IP address, if you press enter before the IP address shows then it will assign it a static IP address automatically, thus getting rid of a few steps in this video. Im asking if this is correct, ive seen it said elsewhere.

You shouldnt mix battery with another battery cuz one can be 3.7v another one 4.2 and another one 2.7, one battery can be 1500mah another 3000mah and this project can just blow up!

You often can get old POS keyboards using cherry black switches for cheap (I got some for about 12€ each a few years ago). For a macro keyboard the dynamic of the switch does not matter, so you can reuse the switches (even if you prefer blue ones like I do). However, the most impotant part are some old POS keyboards have 2-part relegendable keycaps. Keycaps with transparent cover. You can print a label, put it on the main part of the keycap and stick the tranparent cover on top. For a macro keyboard this is quite nice. Actually this was used on POS systems to lable with product pictures (f.e. in bakerys for the most sold products). You can still buy such keycaps new, but theycost more than the switches...

How can it charge 5s if it is only giving around 12 volts ? To charge the 5s battery we should give like 21 volts to fully charge.

I've got it too! I confirm that S99 works with original JBC 2.5 Ohm tips! And only for the price of one JBC tip. 😅 But not with PD USB-C charger as all of them that I could find can only deliver 20V 5A, and 140W chargers do 28V 5A instead of 20V. From USB-C it can still work using 100W charger when power is limited to 70% in the menu. But it does work to 100% with SlimQ F150 charger/power brick for laptops using DC5525 to USB-C cable, that is to full 150W. That means it heats up in 2-3 seconds. SlimQ F150 is also very compact so it suits this iron very well. But don't confuse it with only USB-C model SlimQ 150. Search for "USB Type C to DC 20V 3A PD Emulator Trigger Power Cord Charging Cable Converter Wire 1.5m for TS100 PINE64 SH72 Soldering Iron" from "NovelLife Official Store" trader on AliExpress - that's an amazing soft silicone cable that feels like original JBC station cable! And that USB-C to DC5525 cable works from SlimQ F150 DC5525 output to S99 USB-C input or (!) from USB-C charger capable of 20V to TS100 (another soldering iron) DC5525 input. Simply amazing. 😄

What is efficiency of these Fast Charge Modules? I've bought some from AliExpress and was happy when I verified that they indeed deliver 65W, but was suprised to see their efficiency is only around 55%.

Beautiful build. I made supplies before from a used ATX PSUs. The first one I cut all of the wires, soldered connections, put it all together and the PSU failed. No fault of mine, just an old supply. I only use connectors now. That way, if the PSU fails, it is plug and play. I'm looking to make a new one (similar to this), but using a modular supply and a case to hide the wires. I am going to use a small form factor computer to mount the PSU and support electronics. It even has prebuilt room for fans.

Yeah, people really need to stop recommending shitty TS100/101/Pinecil irons. They are old as fuck and there's so many better options out there now. Wasted £75 on a Pinecil/Power supply combo when I could've gotten this for a total of around £50. At least the pinecil is usable, but who wants an inferior, more expensive product?
@nickf2589
@nickf2589 Күн бұрын
@EmberRepairs I've been using the ts101 for a couple of weeks now, it's not a bad iron, I just wish there were smaller tips available. I'm probably gonna end up getting a sequre one or something similar just for the jbc tips and keep the miniware as a backup backup iron. So yes, definitely do stop recommending the miniware style irons. They're great, but there's better (i. e. more versatile) ones for less than half the price.

This is great! How many uses do you get before the battery is out of charge? I'm wanting to make a table top version of this, and the frequency of needing to charge it is a hurdle. Thanks!

Hello, being a novice I have questions, I am in the process of creating the lab power supply and in your diagram there is, in each voltage rail, an inscription 3V3T, or 5VT or 12VT. What does the T stand for? And do you plan to make an oscilloscope afterwards? Thank you for your response
