@SapperGentleman32 минут бұрын
@oscarvillalobos2453 I can't remember what the specs were on the sights in this video, but I like larger gap/more light. Narrower front sight is easier to "see around", if that makes sense? It doesn't obstruct the target as much.

What is your set up on the green dot? I'm trying to find some thin sights and black rear sights. And that setup looks awesome. Mind giving me dimensions? I have a cz p10c. And the only thing I want to change is the sights.

@@SapperGentleman The only reason 1 shot, flick to safety, is even a thing is because of law enforcement SOP. The risk assessment was that it is worth putting officers, SWAT, HRT, at risk because they were so concerned with ND or shooting a civilian instead of a threat. It isn't a tactically sound method for self defense. Good trigger discipline and good threat assessment is far superior for the everyday person. Now if you are SWAT, I kind of get it because of the high stress environment of saving a hostage, neutralizing a threat and not having an ND or to avoid friendly fire.
@SapperGentleman10 күн бұрын
@HelenKellerDenier It's an up-drill, bro. That's it. You have to put the safety back on so you can flip it off on the next "up". I'm working with a brand new optic, trying to see how it feels to snap in and press a shot from low-ready. Shouldn't be remotely controversial.

The Old Style Vaq is my Go-To all day long. It's miles stronger, can handle virtually ANY handload, and is just a more modern gun. In stainless it's a perfect, but heavy, woods gun. Mine is a 98, bought new and still perfectly timed with zero evidence of wear. Wolff springs gets me a trigger of about 2-3 lbs. My S&W Model 60 and past models are barely better - and they are all superb in SA mode. Initially, I had problems with the cylinder jamming but i discovered that some primers were not properly set to depth (my bad) and some backed out enough to cause interference as the cylinder went around. It doesn't take much - maybe .005-.008"

What is your thought on 5x vs 3x micro prism? If you had to pick one of them, which would you pick for what kind of situations? I am considering a microprism for a rifle that would be used in 2/3-gun type competition.
@SapperGentleman12 күн бұрын
@gslavik There are pros and cons with both. If I have to reach out beyond 200yds, I'm gonna want the 5×, but 3× gives a wider field of view, and a more forgiving eye-box ("quicker").

5-6x with an AR is pretty useful. And the red dot is in the range of the tall mounts people use today. I got an old ACOG with a doctor sight on trade(well he lost a bet) while overseas. Still got it today. And I’ve always like the setup for the field. Options are nice. But this may be a nice alternative to the aging ACOG.
@JohnZ55614 күн бұрын
I went with their complete M4-76, then upgraded to a V2 13.9 CHF barrel. I kind of prefer the 76 rail because it is a bit slimmer(I wear M-size gloves) and still solid, plus I'm only using LPVO, a Rein 3.0 and a BCM VFG on this setup. Has no plan for LAM so I don't need an extra chunky rail for that. And I do suppress it almost all the time so I really don't want any unnecessary weight towards the front. Really recommend the Plxc 1-8 Mil and Scopeswitch(1.93") combo if you are chasing that perfect setup when your eyesight isn't that great. It is natural to aim(with CTR stock so my head is more upright), and the zoom becomes organic as I never need to let go of my support hand and was able to instantly adjust to a comfortable magnification while aiming. I found often times somewhere 3x-5x works great and has a much more forgiving eye box/relief, it kind of blows the ACOG out of the water for that matter. It also is really quick to return to 1x as soon as I'm done zooming in, the slider acts like a thumb rest/stop at 1x while letting me know it is at 1x.
@JohnZ55614 күн бұрын
In case you're looking to pair a good can with this rifle. I tested CAT WB and it worked excellently, almost no impact on the gassing, the sound and flash suppression is REALLY good for its size.

The problem with the OEM mount was the design, it had probably better materials than this mount but there was so much leverage that it couldn't hold zero, this mount changes nothing about that design and aparently can't even get proper mounting hardware. Just get the hero mod mount way better engineering for the same thing
