Mr. Del,thank you for all the support you have given our channel. Glad to get my Case back. Not a cheap fix around 11000.00. What do you do. I need and use my case for everything. Hip surgery soon. Hoping to have surgery in the next 2 weeks if we get things worked out. I just hope I’m healed up well enough to make the Indiana trip. That’s the plan. How’s the grandson doing? Take care buddy.

@ you are more than welcome Mr Al . That was a costly fix but you know what you have . When you ask me what do I do , I’m retired . I learned a good trade in the military and bounced around jobs for a few years and then went to work for GE . I retired 1 May 2023 . If you mean what I use for equipment , I don’t have nothing but my little garden tractors and my Countyline log splitter . I do have a dump trailer . I would like to have a tractor or one of those stand on mini skid steers but I don’t sell as much wood as you and some of the other guys do to justify one . I hope your surgery hip gets done . All I can tell you is get yourself a polar Kodiak ice machine with the hip wrap . You will never regret it . Hope you heal up and can come to Indiana also . My grandson is doing wonderful . Thank you for asking . Keep me updated on your hip please . Have a safe and happy week . Del

Hi Kenny, thanks for watching. I am glad I kept the bladders. For me they work well. Going in for hip replacement very shortly. I’m hoping to be back at things in 3-6 weeks. Just tired of all the pain. Of course I will need to scale back and need to be very careful on icy spots. Don’t want to end up back in the hospital. Thanks for your support. Have a Great Day my friend.

Hi Noel, thanks for stopping in to watch. I am pretty good at fixing things, but I didn’t think my skills are good enough for a project like that. The motor wasn’t cheap delivered in with my old motor going back as a core exchange was about 8250.00 plus labor. Expensive but what do you do. I couldn’t even get an offer from 4 different dealerships for trade. Hopefully things will workout. New ones are totally out of the question. Used ones are 30 -40000.00 and most have 2500-3500 hours. Thanks for your support. Keep in touch.

Thanks for stopping by in to watch. No doubt some of the rounds were nasty. I’m burning a bunch of that nasty stuff from July when Larry Kluck was up to see us. I am very surprised how well that junky crap is burning. Basswood actually can burn pretty hot, it just don’t last near as long as other hardwoods. I just got back from the doctor today, and going to have a hip replacement on left side. I truly hope I will get some relief in my lower back once this gets done. Saturday night around -22 below and staying below zero for several days. Thanks for your support Brian.

Hi Noel. Thanks for stopping in to watch. It would be nice to be able to quickly put something in place to hold the wood from sliding on the table when splitting. You have very little problems in the summer or fall. It can be nasty if you’re going to fast. If you feather the knife it is much safer. Stay warm.

@clubdoraoutdoorsandfirewood
@clubdoraoutdoorsandfirewood 25 күн бұрын
Hey there Kenny.the bladders work fine for me. I just won’t pay 100.00 for a tote. Seriously the bladders with holes do dry the wood just as fast as the metal totes. Wind can blow right through the bladders just as well. I cut 6 holes /side and 8 on the bottom for a total of 31 4.5 inch holes. You need to move the bladders with caution because the plastic is slippery. I have tipped a few. The good thing is you can tip the bladder over and stick a tine from the pallet fork through a hole on the bottom and lift it and dump it right out. Thank you for your support.

Hi Brian thanks for stopping by. I need to fill them back up. I now need to figure out where to find cheaper wood. Oak 130.00, maple 120.00, birch 115.00 per loggers cord. You can’t make enough money at those prices. You get about 2.25 face cords / loggers cord. I sell at 80.00 per face cord. So I get 180.00 worth of wood . Cost to process has to be at least 50.00. Chain ware oil gas and wear and tear. And labor. Check my math. I just don’t see how to make any money. Thanks for your support.

Thanks for watching. I may have to go cut some of my own trees down. Most logs up here are 130.00 for oak 120.00 Maple 115.00 For birch. If you only get about 2.25 face cords from l loggers cord. 2.25 face cords x 80.00 per face cords = 180.00 . That only gives me 60.00. I can’t do that. I need to find wood some other way. Most of the tree service companies keep all the hard wood or the homeowners want it. If I raised the price to 100.00 a face cord I don’t think I would get people to purchase. Thanks again for watching. If you have ideas let me know.

@@clubdoraoutdoorsandfirewood On the larger rounds I'd drop the wedge as low as it will go, if it peels over the top then resplit it. It's six in one hand half dozen in the other when you have to keep fishing those pieces out of the top of the wedge anyway. The wedge is larger than the push plate so gotta find the middle ground on it.

@clubdoraoutdoorsandfirewood
@clubdoraoutdoorsandfirewood Ай бұрын
Hi Terry, I do dry wood in the bladders. Because of the high cost of totes I decided to use the bladders for additional storage. I have found I usually store bundle wood in the bladders. Pine spruce ,popalur,and basswood. The wood dries just as fast in the bladders as totes. I did try maple this spring March. 24, and that wood is surprising dry at 15-17 percent. I do split my wood on the smaller side to help the drying process. The bladders have 6 holes cut on each side and 9 on the bottoms. 4.5 inch diameter hole saw size. It takes some extra time to do all that drilling but adds a lot of storage. Thanks for watching. Please stop by again.
