As someone who has invested quite a bit into my own home studio, I can confidently say that none of this is necessary. All you really need is a laptop, a few plugins, and a strong sense of passion and inspiration. There are 16-year-olds in tiny rooms in Berlin producing absolute bangers entirely in the box without any extra gear. Hardware can be useful if you want quick results and don’t have the technical skills to achieve the same sound digitally, but it’s far from essential. The only hardware I’d truly recommend is a good preamp and microphone if you're a recording artist. In fact, a huge percentage of your favorite records are 80% done in the box, with only occasional outboard gear like synths-most of which can also be replicated digitally. She likely has brand partnerships and is getting paid to showcase this gear, making it seem like a necessity. Don’t be misled-there are no shortcuts. Take the time to truly learn your craft inside and out.
