So Sad to see regurgitated compressed leather used in heel stacks. Not aware that Sanders, Cheaney, Trickers, Church’s used such cheap heel stacks. Not even sure Barkers do.

Thanks for the comment, you obviously know about shoes. I'll ask Loake about this.

Hi Micky, I don't really think Laurie really meant anything by his comment, it was just a throwaway word in what we thought was a nice piece. But thank you for commenting, and for watching.

My dad was a mod in Brighton in the mid 60s. He then moved to Sweden with my mum. They had me and my sister. im 45 now, but about 30 years ago on a visit to the grandparents in Shoreham I went in and bought my first fishtail Parka and Ben Sherman shirt at JTG. I remember it as if it was yesterday. I still have both. The parka is one of the best Ive ever seen, sadly too small for me now, but the shirt shirt fits, and still looks as good as it did the day I bought it. Is it still the same proprietor?

Thanks so much for the story Timothy. Yes, we are still the same people.

the last true Mods in England were the Perry Boys and Casuals of the early 80s, not walking round looking like your in the 60s, it evolves, that's the point surely

Remember when they opened it was a breath of fresh air at last you could buy the stuff you needed and wanted. People forget how difficult it always was buying the correct gear. I'm over the moon they are still going Adum and the Team deserve it. The original Mod Shop in Brighton and still the best❤

Good makover but this was exactly what happened once the 79 revival had become commercialised. I actually knew of kids who went up to Carnaby Street with mainstream clothes on and a fist full of money. A few hours later after visiting the Cavern, Shelleys and Mellandi they came home as the new Steve Marriott!

I was in the 79 London revival scene where we wore the clothes all the time - we would have worn Mod pyjamas had they been available. Today's salad dodgers only dress up (badly) when they have an evening event and wear Doctor Martens with old tshirts and bomber jackets by daytime making them actually more scruffy than most Rockers. Stylish teens riding classic two strokes ridden at a casual pace have been replaced by befuddled 'Top Men' thrashing the proverbial arse off a four stroke plastic auto adorned with Ebay tat.
