​@ Yup, autumn and winter can be especially depressing in this part of the world, I agree. Still, it has its own interesting vibe. The moody weather in the U.K. has its own charm too. Do you like it too, or would you prefer to stay on tropical islands year-round? 😄

You mean the sleeping districts with commie blocks? Those are not going away anytime soon, but buildings are getting renovated and more green public spaces fill in the gaps. Must have been a long time ago, things are changing rather fast

“Untouched”. You have either never been there or never seen anything else. Do you really blame Lithuania for bearing scars from centuries of slavery? There is soviet architecture living blocks, but they’re all well maintained, with well kept parks and gardens, with modern business buildings seamlessly built around them. The city is packed with new (<10yo) private houses.

​@ That is BS... I live in US now but i have a couple of Lithuanian friends who come and stay with me and my Ukrainian cousin in the US... They have nothing good to say about Lithuania. After years of being in EU their economy is shut and they had to borrow money form IMF to survive... all the GDP numbers are fake because any production factories they got going are owned by foreigners and the profits go to central European banks as soon as they are made. Oh i heard a million stories from them and they are all negative

@ Its fine... not any different from Bulgaria or Central Ukraine (20 years ago) But im Soviet born and nothing is gonna shock me :)
