Early this year we had 2 days with -36 and -37C in the morning. My all-electric Volkswagen ID.3 worked perfectly, as did my wife's 1.0L Ford Focus. I saw very few diesel cars on the road those two days :) I didn't even try to fire up my Dodge Ram with a 5,7L V8, but i'm sure it would start up, albeit with a ton of wear on the lifter rollers, and a bunch of new oil/coolant leaks resulting from the rapid expansion of the aluminium unevenly crushing the gaskets.

Just a small detail. If the temperature is going in to the negative it's not rising, it's falling.

Dude, in syberia we do the cold start at -21 -25 C almost every day all winter. Try it on -35 or -40C :D

Its -21 at the start and in the subtitles you say it went "up to -27c" later in the video. -27c is warmer than -21, wow, you learn something new everyday.

Better drive? You're giving an advice on how to get your cars engine to break as soon as possible tutorial. Let the oil flow dude, it's cold. Don't start it up and immediately drive to "warm it up", it needs to slowly warm up while idling.

@@gateopssss this is a pro tip I got from a engine builder who lives in a cold climate: start your car, de ice windows, get in and leave. If you sit around I forget what he said exactly but like gas gets into oil or something and its not good to sit around in idle waiting for car to get to operating temp isnt as good an idea as it seems
