I felt so bad about Anna's story in the end... The show already established Summer as the long-run love for Seth and Anna as the third wheel. But she was so great and so perfect for Seth that is sad she got to leave... It's like, you never want to be Anna in this situation but also neither in Seth's. I felt so worried for Seth to have to make that choice. Anna wasn't scripted as the typical 3rd party in a love triangle and that's one of the reasons this show was great. One example of real drama and not the classic love triangle, where the third wheel is evidently written to just shake things up between the main couple. And it's rare in this kind of shows to feel compelled and worried about a third-wheel character. Somaire helped a lot with her acting. You gotta love her.

While this scene is "hot", it's also so profoundly sad, due to Marissa's story and the fact she's basically giving up here, giving up on everything. Like it or not, she was the heart of the show, and it's no surprise that things were never the same after her departure.

I can agree we all had a person in our life that we always were hanging up with them a lot, being important in our life but suddenly due to external things we moved away from them and in our daily life we still think of it, cause we lived a lot with them and shared many memories

I remember the exact moment I saw this for the first time. I was in high school (in Italy) and I watched this episode alone in the living room at night, with my armchair a meter away from the TV. The story had gripped me so much and I remember that when the episode ended with this song I got emotional and hoped that the music could continue for a little longer. In the months (years?) that followed, having listened to this song many times, I remember my mother telling me what its meaning was. How beautiful to relive these emotions after so many years and share this with so many other people around the world

You have to give it up for Samaire Armstrong for giving one of if not the best performances on the show. It was a key ingredient to what made the first season so special. All the more impressive was that she played a side character. This scene was so well done - enough to make anyone bawl. You can tell Anna really didn't want to leave by that last turn and smile
