This song is breaking my heart. It's been played every time Ryan thought she might be dead and carried her home. The first time, then this scene, when she died and then when he said goodbye to her after she died and he read her letter when in coma.

@@TeamMshaw yes that’s true, but in the last season when Taylor and Ryan are in comas and are in an alternate reality of the oc, ryan in the alternate reality reads the letter marissa sent to him in the real reality before she left the oc. And while Ryan is reading the letter in the alt reality, this song plays, and shows flashbacks of when he carried her in the show!

In season 4 it's revealed that in an alternate universe, this is how Marissa would've died had Ryan never come to Newport. Just for anyone who forgot or never saw that episode. UNBELIEVABLE. he saved her another 3 years!

“The OC” Season 1, Episode 7. How could we have known when we saw Ryan holding Marissa in his arms, it was a premonition. A few seasons later, he would be holding her the same way as she was dead from the car accident caused by Volcheck. “The OC” brings back good memories, but Mischa leaving the show was the downfall. In hind sight, this episode foretold how this show would go down.

I think that if marrisa really had to die so Ryan should've not moved on and had a new girlfriend so fast, they should've did that after she dies he's concentrating on other things for the whole season (except a girlfriend) and everyone(especially seth) is pressing him to find someone all year and then on the series finale he meets someone who's exactly like marrisa and thats how it ends...
