As someone who had only seen Storm in movies and TV, when I finally picked up the OG X-Men I was surprised at how gentle and compassionate she was. I liked her way better. It was a cool idea to contrast her personality with her powers.

With all due respect, your design, while good art, doesn't feel like Batman at all, Absolute Batman looks and feels like Batman from a slightly different universe, from the cape to the ears, to the bat ace every part of the suit feels like a lethal extension of himself.

Period appropriate! The Batman film could not decide if they wanted a gothic or modern setting and it really showed in their design of the penguin. It’s like they wanted to imply the character more than they wanted to really have them on screen.

He doesn't really come into his character in the Batman film. Which was an interesting take. His 'origin' story is the TV show, at the end he dons his signature tuxedo look.

I feel like your redesigns for this character was just Jubilee and Rogue in vaguely 80's athletic/adventurer gear. I know we know next to nothing about the overall look, but I'm looking for something to grab my attention other than boobs - something that might indicate a character with intrigue or substance.

@@BlacklistUniverse Well, from the trailer the only real standout thing was the vaporwave audio sword. I'd take that aesthetic and apply it to the character. For instance, maybe she's a cute girl, but she's mute - so, she wears a robotic mask over her mouth that she uses to speak. So, when she uses the mask to speak you get those same red audio lines being displayed. Better yet, maybe she can only use the mask you play songs or chords and that's how she communicates to others. Then, when she goes into a rage or intends to battle, the mask display turns off, and you'd hear that audio through the sword instead. So, the mask implies the disability, the disability implies additional challenges to overcome on her journey which make her relatable (something like "finding your voice" or the difficulties communicating with others being the throughline), and so now you have a cooler design, the propostition of a relatable protagonist, and a somewhat unique element that makes your character standout rather than just a prop sword.

Chest design is wonderful, but the face paint should’ve stayed. The main problem I have with your “fixes” is that you’re just drawing the character. They do not match the Rivalz aesthetic or proportions at all.

It's the proportions I have problems with. And I didn't like the face paint either. White on white skin doesn't look like anything.

@@BlacklistUniverse It's the subtle contrast between his tanned skin and the ash colored face paint which make him more terrifying. It's like the Punisher is peeling Frank's skin away. I do want to say it again though - your vest wins big.

@@CmanRetention In part the 'mech tech' look in Rivals, in part I just don't understand the idea of using standard fighting wraps when you have shards of metal sticking out of your arms. It wouldn't do anything of value, and would more than likely just get shredded on the metal.

The in-game design doesn't just look androgynous, the character looks too young. As in, the only way she could have her own ship is if rich parents bought it for her, and I just can't take her seriously as a result.

Comment not related, but, talking about Cockrun X-Men costume, reminds how female characters in the 80s and 90s have awesome costumes without being vulgar or cringe. Your talk reminds me about Cheetara from Thundercats, such lovely, strong characters with simple details and amazing costume.

They do it on purpose... its part of the agenda to make ugly characters... I think it started because of Anita Sarkeesian. what's happening now is just the results of what she made them do.... She literally visited every big game dev preaching her agenda. Videogames take way too long to make.

I appreciate the ministerial stuff that you do alongside all of the comic book things. It says a lot about your heart. I've pastored 2 different churches for 8.5 years total. I'm a person who always strives to actively engage others. You want them to walk away with something - not just be there. I don't want to feel like I just said something & it fell too the ground. Yeah, I too didn’t like the new Storm style. Tbh I did think, why would they make the one black superhero woman on it with a cool original design worse? I’m a woman saying this-not that it really matters-but just pointing out that as a female I also like her original fashion sense better. Just why with the hair…her hair was so awesome originally-especially since her power is lightning/storm. Seeing her billowing hair lit up with lightning and looking like a thunder cloud was so cool previously.
