I THINK the reason she gave for removing her emblem (at the time, though I'm sure it's been retconned) was that she felt she was nothing more than a replacement for Supergirl, and didn't feel worthy of wearing a symbol like Supergirl or any other heroes.

@@BlacklistUniverse an update on my Beast boy drawing request, a few years ago I was inspired to try and draw Dc characters in the style of the seminal 80's series Miami Vice along side 80's fashion in general, now I have my own take on it but I would love to see your interpretation with that concept.

They didn't figure out what to put there in character design because they wanted a new emblem...but couldn't figure it out so it turned into a window

@@BlacklistUniverse Hope you will do a combination of her 1st comic costume & 1st JLU costume (cause those two are her best outfits IMO) with a little bit of wrist & calf gears from the hush costume. And please give her a gymnast/crossfiter type physique; athletic yet thick & toned.

I think PG was introduced in Earth 2 before the Crisis. She didn't wear the S then either. Why? I can't remember, but I think it was something of a joke. What was more interesting is she wasn't as virtuous as her Earth 1 counter part. When they brought back her E2 hertitage, it added more dimension to her character, dealing with so much loss. Now what I would've liked to see in a redesign is to incorperate the S as a belt buckle or as the clip for her cape.

First of all, you redesigning Power Girl= instant watch. Second, the cross-thing makes Power Girl looks like she's taking fashion tips from Martian Manhunter. 😄 Third, the lack of sleeves gives me an air of PG wearing a swimsuit more than some heroines already do

She has something of a Joker Face with this open loughing mouth and in general her facial features are a little bit unsetteling. But, her costume looks very good and the color sceme is very nice. I still would prefer the version with sleeves.

@@BlacklistUniverse Yes, the look from below faces are in general difficult to draw. When I try it, the faces often look to masculin which is not what I want for a female.

Speaking from experience, sculpting is a great way to force yourself to learn anatomy. I’d probably never have learned how to construct the back muscles if I hadn’t done it in 3d software about a bazillion and a half times. Also you learn fun muscle names like the sternocleidomastoid or brachioradialis.

her right boot doesn't look right, to round. But a Amazing redesign , love this. Also fun fact, her original artist kept making her boobs bigger until his editor asks if her boobs were getting bigger then they kept it at where is was. Love that story for her development.

I think Power Girl has the hole because she doesn't feel worthy of the S. I'm terrible at posing. I am incapable of posing a character from my brain alone. If I'm not using reference materials, like books, 3D posing software and stock photos, I'm stumped. It makes me feel better when I see you use the selection tool to rotate or warp the pose, helps me feel like my workflow isn't awful. I like drawing fan comics based on my favorite properties, I would like to see how you go about the process of drawing a comic. How much of it is going based off a script, or do you as the artist get an outline and have more creative control on how the page looks?

Another reason to practice more up-angle head art is, it's the "hero angle". Steven Spielberg explains why it was used for Oliver North during the Iran-Contra scandal hearings.

Hmm... not a fan of yellow soles like that. It'd look better if the boots had yellow trim or the gloves had it. As-is it feels out of place. Also, some versions of PG have the S symbol on the belt buckle, or cape clasp.

@ perhaps venomize him kind of like you did with the war hammer soldier. I think it would be interesting to see something different with Dr Doom as most just keep him the same as if afraid to tarnish the visage of Doom. Also, have you ever look at doing in old Image Comic characters like Pit?

Finally! So excited. I really dislike the new red jacket costume. It just looks so low enegry and bland. I always imagined her as a 'if it can't be done in heels, I don't want to do it!" Power girls origin is very convoluted but I know in one universe at least she was Ultraman's cousin not Superman's and her refusing to wear his symbol was a rejection of his tyranny. Others had it so it was more of a personal preference. Edit: I think I know what it was. The smile showed too much gums. Smiles do show upper teeth but not gums, showing gums makes it look more threatening than soothing

How often do you flip an image for a better perspective? My brain is horrible at seeing/making things wonky. I have to look at the sketch in a mirror to get a balanced perspective on the image.

Suggestions, huh? Well... remember what you did with Goku? Maybe you could do something like that with characters from Japanese fighting games like Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Darkstalker, Blazblue , Tekken or Undernight in-Birth.

I can't draw anything to save my life HAHAHAHAHA. I'm an I.A.I.A. Alumni, Class of 1972. There were almost 2900 Natives on campus way back when. I got on campus two months after Billy Jack had filmed there.

The sleeveless look is awesome, whether you're one of the artists that makes PG beefier or more feminine. Thinking about it, ripping off the sleeves of a lot of the DC characters could wildly change the whole appearance of tone of the universe (and maybe putting sleeves on Lobo).

It's definitely difficult to work with that face angle, there's a reason women take selfies by holding their phone out and tilting down. I like this design, but prefer the sleeved look; I've always been a sucker for female designs with long sleeves and bare legs

@BlacklistUniverse I mean, you're not wrong, the best examples I can think of that don't involve tights are mostly from Japanese media. Anime/manga, shorter gothic lolita dresses, idol costumes, those sort of things
