Hell Yeah, had what I was thinking was my saddle creaking on my new Defy Adv with Dfuse post. Greased the post clamp like you suggested and now its silent. Saddle was fine. Thank you for the save !!!

I've had the bike for 5 years now. I ride about four times a week. The bike has held up well. I had my first tire blowout today with the original tires. Put on some Continentals which are much better than what it came with. Should be good for another 5 years. Bikedirect still sells them.

Great video. I recently acquired a gravity 26inch bmx style bike. I love it so far. The gear ratio sux tho. 32 chain ring and 16 cog.

Thank you! Cleaned the clamp and no more sound when tightening to spec. Thought I cracked my brand new carbon frame/seatpost despite being nowhere near max torque.

Same issue here! Brand new tcr. I adjusted the seat post and didn’t want to tighten it too much then the seat post or frame started producing this noise and I got scared. Lost an inch in height and then bought a tool with newton indicators but I still get the noise. It’s so painful every time I hear that because I feel that I’m going to break the frame. I think I’m just going to let a professional do it

Giant Defy with 3 miles on it-same problem..creaking, clicking and this was exactly the problem. I used a light coat of oil (not grease) but it solved the problem. The seat post may be hard to get out, but just give the bottom of the seat a good whack. Same for putting the post back in. Thread the bolt through the wedge thingy and insert it as one piece. I had to use a small plastic hammer to tap the insert in--tighten to 6nm and you will be good to go!!

Great video. About the gearing though, I never changed mine, kept it stock and ran 3s stock. Have never had a problem with the motor or esc. A few others have said that the older version of the Savage XS, the ESC would fry but the newer version can handle much more abuse. In my case, it's been 2.5 years since getting it and no issue what so ever with motor temps, or ESC issues. I only swapped a pinion but thats because I just wanted a fresh one. But everything else has been all goods apart from the usual cleaning and maintenance :)

Good day! I am from Russia and did not understand a little about the lubricant, I will be glad if you tell me! Do the mating wedges and seatpost need to be lubricated with grease? or just grease the surface between the wedges and that's it? thank you!

Man I was terrified when setting my seat post height on my TCR i just received. Thought I broke the frame. Was to scared to get it past 3 NM. The post doesn't move or make noise now tho... Would i just leave it as is or clean it... I'm quite a noob at this. Could to little torque damage the bike in any way?

I literally had the same on my revolt advanced. Pretty loud snapping, clicking, grinding sounds, so much so that I also feared I might have done some damage to the carbon frame already - would have been a shame since it is a new bike and I am a carbon newbie. After cleaning/re-greasing as you describe, it is now smooth until the torque wrench indicates the correct tension. Thank you!!

If your ever thinking of burying any kind of bike from Giant make sure that it dose not have this d fuse seat post clamp, it's an awful pice of engineering and should be avoided like the plague.

I agree. Post has been slipping since the very first ride on a Revolt Advanced 0 I got 2 weeks ago. It's back in the shop again awaiting warranty info. Had I known this about the post I would have NEVER bought the thing. Pretty sad for such an expensive bike.

For the money you spent on upgrades you could have bought a Specialized Sirrus which is a much better bike. Just saying. Edit: Actually I would like to add that the components on this bike aren't bad. I've compared this bike's components to the cheapest Specialized Sirrus V-brake model from last year which my LBS will sell me for $420. Both have Tourney deraliers (though slight different models) from which I can tell from Amazon are just a few bucks different and have great reviews. Same with the cassete, crankcase, shifters set. The brakes both seem to be kinda generic. I rode the Sirrus yesterday and loved it. Also tried out a Trek FX1 and and $500 Cannondale. All nice bikes. All I'm saying is while these aren't top of the line $1000+ bikes, the components you are getting from Bikesdirect.com for $269 are comparable to what you'll pay for $500 at the LBS. I'm seriously considering this now. Debating between this and the yellow 2019 Motobecane Elite Sport. I like the white Gravity too.

Which frame size did you get? I am 6'2" and tried specialized sirrus XL which fits me really well after a walmart bike I got rid of. That specialized had 55cm seat tube and very long top tube. This bike has very different geometry compared to that and has longer seat tube but shorter top tube. I am trying to decide between L (55.5cm) or XL (58.5cm) of the Gravity. Any helps? Thanks for the review by the way, it was much needed!

Did you buy it? I'm 6ft and ordered the 55.5 I get it Tuesday. I think at 6'2 you should definitely get the 58.5 . I rode the Sirrus XL too and felt it was a tad large for me.
