Hell Yeah, had what I was thinking was my saddle creaking on my new Defy Adv with Dfuse post. Greased the post clamp like you suggested and now its silent. Saddle was fine. Thank you for the save !!!

Giant Defy with 3 miles on it-same problem..creaking, clicking and this was exactly the problem. I used a light coat of oil (not grease) but it solved the problem. The seat post may be hard to get out, but just give the bottom of the seat a good whack. Same for putting the post back in. Thread the bolt through the wedge thingy and insert it as one piece. I had to use a small plastic hammer to tap the insert in--tighten to 6nm and you will be good to go!!

Thank you! Cleaned the clamp and no more sound when tightening to spec. Thought I cracked my brand new carbon frame/seatpost despite being nowhere near max torque.

I literally had the same on my revolt advanced. Pretty loud snapping, clicking, grinding sounds, so much so that I also feared I might have done some damage to the carbon frame already - would have been a shame since it is a new bike and I am a carbon newbie. After cleaning/re-greasing as you describe, it is now smooth until the torque wrench indicates the correct tension. Thank you!!

Good day! I am from Russia and did not understand a little about the lubricant, I will be glad if you tell me! Do the mating wedges and seatpost need to be lubricated with grease? or just grease the surface between the wedges and that's it? thank you!

Same issue here! Brand new tcr. I adjusted the seat post and didn’t want to tighten it too much then the seat post or frame started producing this noise and I got scared. Lost an inch in height and then bought a tool with newton indicators but I still get the noise. It’s so painful every time I hear that because I feel that I’m going to break the frame. I think I’m just going to let a professional do it

Man I was terrified when setting my seat post height on my TCR i just received. Thought I broke the frame. Was to scared to get it past 3 NM. The post doesn't move or make noise now tho... Would i just leave it as is or clean it... I'm quite a noob at this. Could to little torque damage the bike in any way?

If your ever thinking of burying any kind of bike from Giant make sure that it dose not have this d fuse seat post clamp, it's an awful pice of engineering and should be avoided like the plague.

not sure why you think that. I switched to it this summer and I love it actually

I agree. Post has been slipping since the very first ride on a Revolt Advanced 0 I got 2 weeks ago. It's back in the shop again awaiting warranty info. Had I known this about the post I would have NEVER bought the thing. Pretty sad for such an expensive bike.

I tried this but was unable to remove the seat post. I've tried using wd40 to free it but no joy.
