I'm looking at used and researched a LOT, seems to me the zero has issues that range from annoying to very serious/expensive. ie belts snapping, water getting iinto the system temporarily stopping the bike working or actually killing the battery/electronics, brake disks warping and motor bearings failing. the Energica is noisy and and need chain maintenance but the oil and water changes are not often enough to bother me. on reflection I think the energica would be my choice but tbh I am thinking neither is really is really quite right, whilst it works the zero would be fine, the noise from the energica would annoy me, And most importantly the price / depreciation is too high for a toy. So unless I come across a bargain I'll stick with my emtb

So I have a question… I do this and discharge all the way down to 0%, then when I charge it back to full, do I turn on the Extended Range option in the Menu to charge to full 17.3kW capacity (110% SoC)? From what I understand, 100% SoC is essentially just 90% of battery capacity (15.7kW).

In France we have plenty of single-phase 1x32A=7kW stations, especially in Paris, where it's at least 90% of installed chargers (reused from the discontinued "Autolib" car sharing service). Also hardly any home has 3-phase unless you own a farm. I guess the solution of having 1 charger per phase makes sense in Benelux or Germany where the "small" stations are 3x16A=11kW, and more people have 3-phase at home, but in France, the UK or Spain they don't exist so we must chose between under-using a 7kW station (at 3kW), or under-using a 22kW one (at 6kW). I'm looking at the option of making a custom cable with a switch to bridge L1&L2, it's not standard and should never be used on a 16A station, but from what I've seen it works.
@Hans2183 Жыл бұрын
Yes that should work indeed. In Belgium we have plenty 11 and 22 kW public AC chargers. Households with 3x400V exist but more concentrated in the cities.
@corentinoger Жыл бұрын
From the information I could find, the stock 6.6kW charging is achieved by two 3.3kW chargers each on one phase of the type 2 connector (L1 and L2), while the Charge Tank is connected to L3. This means that even with the chargeTank on, you're still limited to 3.3kW charging on a single-phase 7kW station (230V, 32A). Do you know if it's really the case? (I haven't got the bike yet). If so, one possible upgrade would be to swap L1 and L3 in the bike connector so the CT is used by default. Not sure the bike accepts to charge with CT only, though (stock chargers would not get AC). I have a 7kW WallBox for my car, and I'm really upset that I won't be able to use it fully with the bike.
@Hans2183 Жыл бұрын
On mine with the charge tank I could charge at 6 kW on a single phase 7 kW charger. Only when charging at a 3 phase it was sometimes limited to 10 ish instead of 12 kW (3+3+6) when it was an 11 kW charger. So for the 12 kW speed you need a 22 kW 3 phase charger. Forgot what the internal configuration looked like.
@corentinoger Жыл бұрын
@@Hans2183 Good to know, maybe they improved the mounting procedure. There's a 2 year old video on the official Zero channel with 2 Zero employees charging a SR/F and a SR/S at various stations in the UK, both bikes equipped with ChargeTanks. @Hans2183 Жыл бұрын
The icon in the dash becomes blue as soon as it connects. Could be that there are too many devices trying to pair. Also energica app had some issues in the past. Best to close the energica app completely. Also from running apps overview. Then open my app and on bike dash in settings menu and on app settings reset connection. It shouldn't take more than 30s to reconnect. There is one more possible issue. Energica stopped shipping the BLE module at some point. Probably because of shortage. If you have a recent bike it could be that. Feel free to get in touch if you want to look at logs or so.
