Back in the day, the repeater for the buses for DPS was located there as well. I used to listen to them on my scanner at the time. The repeater needed a lot of help for many years because when it would hang on the air for a few seconds after someone was done transmitting, it output static. When I went to a Detroit Public School we would go swimming every Tuesday at the TMCA and would take a DPS bus from our school. The one thing that stood out to me was the poor audio and static on the bus radios. When I finally managed to get the frequency for them, the minute I started monitoring it I remembered those weekly trips on the bus.

My Elementary School is over 200 Years Old it was two playgrounds,yes I said two playgrounds,it went through at least a couple renovations,i went there K -6th Grades,as of 2024 it was rumored that the School was going to be Closed permanently and turned into a Office Complex, I think that's bullshit.

looks like many of the stores themselves looked in the final years. oddly, kmart still runs a website and you can order things online.

I always feel so bad for those Otari machines. Every time I watch an abandoned radio station video, there’s always at least one MX series mix down machine discarded away. It’s unbelievable sad, they’re such good machines. Save the Otari’s

Sadly the school burned down and its remains were cleaned from the area.. Nothing is left.. Not a single brick.. But I was fortunately able to have someone grab a brick for me just in time and mail it to me, so I have a piece of my childhood school..

I was at the height of my working career when I worked for a fortune 100 company. It was a great job at a great company and I loved working there. When I got laid off and cleared out my cube it was a crushing blow to me. I kid you not when I say that I dreamt about my job there almost every night for a year. I worked there almost 10 years.

There should've been a bowling alley in a Fallout game tbh, but like the "Wild Wasteland Perk" so you see old bowlers turned ghouls, still bowling after the bombs fell, and the entrance was blocked off, and they only attack if you interrupt their game!.

Thanks for the video guys, I have just watched it for the fourth time. Not being from Michigan you probably don't know what this place represents for those who were children in the 1980's in this state. Big big thank you once more for your work and enthusiasm!!!!

It’s now 2024 and I really enjoyed that video. Seeing a lot of old equipment I know of. But what worried me was the tower. Okay, you can leave a once valuable optimod to rot and die, and that’s a shame, but you can’t leave a tower without maintenance, or eventually, it will fall over. It’s also looked like it might be 200foot or more tall, in which case it needs to have working aircraft warning lights.
@DetroitEXP Жыл бұрын
Yes, you are correct about the tower. They had to come out and demo the tower shortly after the video since it was left in a dark state.
