6:40 Yeah, I actually like the "House Fancy" episode, but the toenail scene I despise and find it to be a cringey 10 seconds. Now granted I think the animation with how its done reduces the impact a little bit, but that scene is still my least favorite/most hated part of the episode even though I find the rest of the plot to be funny.

That fish at the ending of Nautical Novice doesn't make any sense at all Like it looks like that fish is an idiot SpongeBob was totally driving he literally saved hundreds of lives then that 1 fish tried to ruined it

Because i'm pretty sure that's out of character even if you even try to defend this episode , which I can see you not doing , because i'm pretty sure you're gonna say this episode was filler , boring , not anything special very long , etc

The reason I hate House Fancy isn’t even the toenail scene-it’s SpongeBob. In previous seasons SpongeBob was stupid but in a kind and humorous way. Here he just keeps intentionally screwing up without even being funny. It’s not awful but definitely bad.

So its like this Season 1: The Father Season 2: The Mother Season 3: The Uncle Season 4: The Big Sister Season 5: Middle Child Season 6: The Ugly Child Season 7: The Hated Child Season 8: The Big Brother Season 9a and 9b: The Two Brother Twins Season 10: The Twins's Brother Season 11: The Grandpa Season 12: The Grandma Season 13: The 3 year old kid Season 14: The Baby who has just been born

Both very lackluster episodes, especially for the 100th SpongeBob pairing. Both episodes have new characters that aren't funny nor intresting, both episode aren't to funny, and both have plots that don't go anywere intresting. Stanley.S. Squarepants is more hot & cold with it's enjoyability (6/10), while Banned in the Bikini Bottum is pretty consistant, but mostly boring (5/10).

That Episode was Violent

Completely agree w/ the SpongeHenge analysis. I never even thought of it, but your points of the (potentially intended) stiltedness of jokes work incredibly well to dig under your skin. So many of the elements just feel unnatural, especially the opening imo. I think what helps to drive that unnerving-ness is the lack of characters like you said. It feels very isolated from most of the characterizations we know. Obviously we still get Sponge and Mr. Krabs, but Squid and Patrick have practically nothing, I'd even say I remember more of the two fish at the start walking out of the diner instead of Squidward and Patrick. I'm still a bit confused by their discussion of who truly rules the sea, it felt intentionally placed there. Everything just feels a very tiny bit different. The random sun and moon having faces & voices (and directly addressing SB???), the weird ending, the kinda mean / cynical vibe to poor Sponge and more. Honestly I've always compared this vibe to the first minute or so of SB-129: There's just something slightly off, just noticeable enough to feel something is different, but not fully what was changed. Great review, looking forward to more!

*20,000 Patties Under The Sea* A jolly good show; it's find SpongeBob's characterization here intresting, it's a mix of his dopey/oddball side & his quick thinking/well meaning side. Though it works for this episode, I'll give it an 8/10 *The Battle for the Bikini Bottom* A tame gross-out episode; which I liked, though I mostly chuckled more then laughed, so I'll give it a 7/10
