Sorry if you explain this in another video i might not have watched (yet!), but how do you focus stack? I understand you shoot in burst mode, but I'm not sure if you slightly move the camera (the whole thing) or if you slightly move the focus area manually. I understand you do use fully manual Laowa lenses, as I do, but I've yet to master focus stacking

Hi @Naturefold and congrats on this nice calendar! I'm just at the beginning of my macro photography journey but I also created a 2025 calendar this month. I did underestimate the amount of work this would take and it was very hard for me to settle on paper (weight and other characteristics) and the right place to print to get a proper 14 page calendar produced. Any insights you'd like to share (since I also live in Germany, I'd be curious where you ended up printing and why)?

Do you ship to Europe and Switzerland? Will the price be the same? Also please include an option to order both at the same time.

Free shipping worldwide is included in the price. And if you want to order both you can mention that in the section for ordering multiple

So at 1/125 you are using ES for your flash sync rather than 1/250 on MS yes?

Great pictures, I want to say something why don't you make us a video, the settings and the way to capture when moving the camera on the topic also, How can we merge images into one image on the computer? this would be great, also about the camera equipment we need to capture such beautiful micro pictures thank you

Another wonderful video, well done. On initially looking at your trousers, I thought that your were wearing knee pads then thought otherwise. I started wearing knee pads so I don't get soggy knees when bending down. For some reason I thought that you used the X-H2S camera and discovered yesterday that the X-H2S can use the flash with an electronic shutter up to a synchronisation speed of 1/125s. Then I thought that you used that camera because you are a heavy flash user and didn't want to wear out the shutter. On reading your equipment list, I realised that you use the X-H2 that doesn't have a stacked sensor. Do you feel worried about wearing out the shutter as you are such a heavy user? I do and I am not a heavy user like you.

Hallo Alexis. Bei mir sind immer Ränder zu sehen nach dem stacken. Besonders bei Asseln. Warum ist das bei dir nicht so?
@naturefold3 күн бұрын

The relaxed yet insightful way you teach and share your process makes it a joy to watch and learn from you. Quick question-what program do you use to edit your photos? Your results are stunning, and I’d love to know more about the tools you use to achieve such incredible quality. Thanks for sharing your passion and creativity. Can’t wait to see your next video!

I am now using the R5II that does have focus bracketing with flash using the electronic shutter. That said, the only difference from when I was using the R5 is technique. With the R5 I was using flash with the mechanical shutter and rocking handheld or using a focusing rail when on tripod. The results are the same. The other reply you received on your comment is also correct. Automated focus bracketing is not being used here as these are manual lenses. He is using a subtle rocking technique.
@naturefold3 күн бұрын
As others mentioned, I don't use any built in focus bracketing since my lenses are fully manual. I change focus manually by moving the camera forward slowly, which is a bit more challenging but with some practice it's very doable

Hell yeah (I recently watched a video on someone else releasing a 2025 calendar, and I stupidly asked if it was only shots they took in 2025… before realizing how hard it would be to market a 2025 calendar in 2026 lol)
@pentagramyt4175 күн бұрын
the most problem of calendars, they are very expensive in production, he might have 5-10€ out of the full price. That means 75% is taken by manufacturer.

For all the comments regarding you needing a longer lens, your photography skills shone in this video. I have tge Sony 70-350 on an aps-c camera and it just about allows me to get a few decent bird images. The most important skill tends to be a quiet approach + a touch of good fortune.
@G.CurtFiedler8 күн бұрын
Maybe I missed it, but what phone and which of its lenses/cameras did you clip the Apexel lenses to? I think that's an important piece of information.
@JonAppleyard9 күн бұрын
Just in case you haven't spotted it, the latest version of Lightroom Classic supports more RAW formats for denoising, including DNG, so you can process a stack without editing, then bring back into Lightroom and denoise the stacked result, without having to go to Topaz now (though maybe it's better?).
@TimvanderLeeuw10 күн бұрын
I love this lens, I can get some great shots with it of landscape and insects (with teleconverter or macro ring) with lovely soft bokeh, but for wildlife and birds I often find myself wishing for more reach.
