Even though I don't do macro photography, I still enjoy watching your videos. Your enthusiasm for it makes me want to try it.

Very cool, and the videos just keep getting better.

Thanks for showing the Pixel some love. Starting with 8 pro model you have access to full manual controls, including manual focus with live focus peaking. I'm also sometimes using the Apexel 100 mm (previous clip-on revision) on a phone and took some quality shots with it, including an amazingly lucky encounter with a docile hornet. Because, you know, the best camera is the one you have on you. In good lighting scenario and mounted on the main phone lens it can easily trade blows with real camera coupled with macro lens, minus the 100% crop detail of course.

If you are giving feedback to Apexel, perhaps suggest adding a couple of 1/4" threaded holes to the frame for using a mini tripod.

This is so amazing for an old duffer like me. I have to try one. I walked to school in 1958. 😊

I had a 7 transistor radio in my pocket. I'd listen to the Gemini space launches.

Great video! You convinced me to give it a try! Only problem is that I am 68 and can’t crawl around on the ground like you!

I can crawl around on the ground just fine..problem is getting up afterwards. 😖😮

Woooow thanks man! I had no idea you could use the lightroom app to access all manual camera settings..😅I also own a pixel phone and it drove me nuts for so long not having manual focus available...😤 That clip-on lens looks very nice. I planned to get one of the om though camera for better everyday id shots but that seems another great option!👍

Might get the Zoommacro. I like how those turned out! Do you have a preferred software for focus stacking? Thanks for the video.
@naturefoldКүн бұрын
I use Zerene Stacker on my laptop for stacking

@@naturefold Perfect, thank you! I haven't been too pleased with Photoshop's. I'll try this!

Congrats on sponsor. Ring light model, a plus. Of course, expect that EXIF lens data will not be recorded - got to do that ourselves, somehow. Yes? Also, does LR have lens profiles for these add-ons? Would be a plus when correcting for distortion and fringing, but we’d have to manually ID the lens in the app.
@naturefold19 сағат бұрын
I don't think profiles would work for these unfortunately, as the amount and location of vignetting and aberration is very dependent on the phone camera and how well you align the lens with the clip.

Thanks for the video. I have the 100mm Apexel, but haven't really done anything with it. I might give it another shot, but possibly my pixel 9 pro xl is just too wide for holder. Thanks also for the tip on focus stacking and using the LR camera.
@ggwildlifeКүн бұрын
very good but you didnt explain how you focus stacked on the phone what app did you use.
@ronjenkins4257Күн бұрын
He was using Lightroom mobile, and the camera's manual focus mode.
@naturefoldКүн бұрын
Yes I use Lightroom for taking the photos, if you mean how I process the stacks I use Zerene Stacker on my laptop. There are ways to process stacks on your phone too but I find the workflow on the laptop faster and easier

@@naturefold ok thanks i thought you didnt stack them on the phone! i didnt want to get the wrong impression as you never explained that part.
