The second students seemed more engaging to listen to. The deep voice sound added audio contrast. The differing poses and settled quality of one vs a more nervous overall energy of the other seemed to create an interesting dynamic.

Ok, so I started reading the book "Sanford Meisner on Acting" as you has suggested in another video (probably more recent this this one), I'm only on chapter 7 right now, but I am having a hard time understanding what he is trying to teach. Also, I found that I wish it had some practice exercises at the end of each chapter to help you understand what he was trying to teach.

Miss houde! Your words mean a lot, this wasn’t just good for acting. This was good for life! I enjoyed the free class that I had from you a couple years ago! I’m truly considering joining your school, you are one of the most passionate teachers I think I’ve ever come across! I’m not saying that lightly, I really do appreciate you!

Don't forget the boom operators and sound mixers. Without them, you have a silent film. (Can you imagine holding that boompole overhead for 8, 10, 12 hours a day???)

They become repetitive in the long run, ocoming back more and more to things they already said. Is this intended? Are they supposed to restrict themselves to a few short comments? Or is this more like something one should overcome by training?

I'm grateful to be paid monthly as a resident actor with a film and theatre company I'm with AND I make money as a petsitter as well. Getting paid to do what I love and am called to do is something I don't take for granted and have so much joy in, both the artistic side and the time with animals.

It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t pop. It has nice shape and the actresses have done lots of work, it’s evident. Especially the one coming in - she was working off the other person’s behaviour the most. Yet, there was a lack of urgency behind the responses at times, there were moments that were anticipated, there were moments that didn’t come from the other actor. And there were moments when they were “acting”. Too much showing/indicating and not enough “being”. Some choices I didn’t agree with (art is subjective). When she grabbed her bag to put on lipstick was clunky and cliche and she was trying too hard at times. Acting is the only thing in the world where the harder you try the worse it is. I don’t mean the above to be criticism - in fact, not only did they do fantastic job, the above problems would have been solved with the right director- I’m willing to bet that they would have killed it with a director that knows what they are doing. Meisner actors are some of the best at adjustments and taking direction. As an exercise in relationship - playing strangers is the foundation relationship of doors and activities - yet the subtleties of what tied them together as strangers were evident in their performance. So they nailed that aspect.
