okuri eri jime, loop choke is a slang term, grasp collar and looping arm under chin using the collar and thumb base to choke, basic judo. Sliding lapel is similar is my favorite variation. Attack with the choke but turn it into a shoulder throw

Great insight man. For what it's worth I found passing your guard very tiring. You're getting really good at maintaining grips and reguarding and it was tiring me out. The balloon sweep attempt was a saving grace 😅.

Thats why white belts should be rolling with colored belts and not between each other.

So what about a gym that recently opened and there aren't any coloured belts.

At 3:30min looked like he had his knee in your tailbone which makes it easier for him to open your guard. Try moving your hips to the left in this instance to get the knee off of your tailbone and square back up with him. Roger Gracie goes over that and a little more in his videos. It helped me a lot. Here’s the link to one of them. Safe training! kzbin.info/www/bejne/hma2lnaImtOmjbM

Looks like you had some good instincts at the beginning (look up leg weave pass, as well as headquarters passing) those two made a real difference for me from that position when I first started. And at about 1:20 I know you said you were trying a submission from bottom with that arm you had underneath him checkout a technique called (ghost escape) hope it helps. Keep up the good work!! Blue is just around the corner!
@BricklayertoBlackBelt-wu6sb3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tips. I checked out the ghost escape, will give it a go. Going into each session with a game plan and trying to practise a technique we have learnt, I find I retain the knowledge much better that way. Thanks for taking the time to comment and I appreciate the feedback

watch Meregali passing from reverse de la riva in quarter guard, you will grab the belt pinning the knee shield in your shoulder, you grab the collar, straignten your legs (sprawl) to get rid of the hook and force half guard, get the head and work from there, guy. Come on, you can do it.
@theratrace21533 ай бұрын
...but i like the purple belt dude, you can see he has force and pressure game as every purple should have...
@BricklayertoBlackBelt-wu6sb3 ай бұрын
Luke, the purple belt is incredible. So much pressure and always as two, three or four options. Like playing chess rolling with him
