4:55 Hmm that’s about half the estimated hours I’ve seen suggest elsewhere 🤔
@MrLAntrim13 сағат бұрын
I used this site for these estimates. kochiva.com/blog/how-long-does-it-take-to-learn-german-language/ There are a variety of factors that will impact how long it takes to reach a level. Native language, language aptitude, concentration on the topic at hand, style of learning and a whole lot more.

I have 30+ videos in my B1 playlist. B1 German Lessons with Herr Antrim: kzbin.info/aero/PLUbX6-E9Gbtp79SmwHVIXjcSl72_YI4fv If you are looking for one big video that covers all of B1, there is no such thing and there likely never will be, as it would be 16 hours long and still probably wouldn't cover it.

I would think the reason you don't need to understand every word in your native language and still make sense of it is because you've heard that exact construction so many times you can probably assume what's next without hearing more than 2 words. I'm not sure if I have this intuition in German :( (Although the video is much appreciated and has wonderful tips!)

@@MrLAntrimsir What do you suggest there are total of 50 parts maybe should I do 1 part daily ? And How can I remember
@MrLAntrim6 күн бұрын
It depends on what you are doing with the notes. Are you just taking notes and then never looking back at them? Are you making flashcards from the vocabulary? Are you using the worksheets and other materials I made available on my website via my Deutschlerner Club? I would actually recommend doing a mix of things. Watch a lesson and take notes on day 1. Make flashcards and study them on day 2. Day 3, try to use the knowledge in some meaningful way. Then start overlapping lessons. On day 2 you could take notes on your second lesson and study the vocabulary from lesson 1. On day 3 you could take notes on lesson 3, study the vocabulary from lesson 2 and write a short story or conversation using the vocabulary from lesson 1. Then you can also use a spaced-repetition app like Anki to continue to add vocabulary and make sure you don't forget older vocabulary.

My teacher taught me this little poem to remember Dativ prepositions. It goes like: Herr von seit zu und Frau aus bei mit Bleiben mit dem Dativ fit!
@MrLAntrim7 күн бұрын
Cute. What do you do about außer, nach and gegenüber?
@Sukaina_Khan6 күн бұрын
@MrLAntrim Maybe we could make it "Herr nach von zeit zu und Frau außer, aus bei, mit Bleiben mit dem Dative fit!" I guess Gegenüber will have to be left behind. Also, I've never seen gegenüber and außer being used much at A1/A2 level. So this couplet works for newbies.

@2:23:43, why is there ihn instead of es? can someone explain the resson behind it?? bitte schon.
@MrLAntrim7 күн бұрын
"ihn" is referring back to the "Bleistift" mentioned in the previous part of the conversation. It is a masculine noun and therefore a masculine pronoun must be used.

"Bitte komm hinein ins Haus." sounds weird, could it even exist? hinein means that the movement is aways from the speaker, towards the inside of the house. So the speaker is outside but uses "komm" and not "gehe"?? EDIT: I guess we can imagine that the speaker stands by the doorway and invites the guests to enter before him.

Thank you for the wonderful video. What do you think of Rocket German?

I haven't tried it since they sold CDs to listen to in your car. 😂 I don't know much about their current product. I do know that lots of spam websites use their affiliate links to try to earn revenue, but I don't know if that is a reflection of the company or of the spammers.

Hi Herr Antrim, thank you for your amazing German lessons! I’m completely new to the German language and planning to start at the A1 level. I was wondering about the difference between the content in your free KZbin videos and the ‘Beginner German with Herr Antrim’ eBook. Does the eBook include videos as well, or are there additional benefits like exclusive exercises or materials that aren’t in the videos? Thank you for clarifying!
