Is there a reason you seem to have used some of the worst foam I have ever seen for this lol? My understanding that usually you use the purple stuff (XPS foam). Was this cheaper? edit: nevermind looks like you covered over it to not have to sand off all those diamonds
@Model_Addict4 күн бұрын
I had this foam lying around in the barn after renovating the house.😅 It only serves as a base material to hold the shape and is completely covered, so I had no issues with it. And there's still some left, so I'll use it in a future video.😁

Great video. Q: what is the brand of spray template that you were using?
@Model_Addict11 күн бұрын
Oh, thank you!😁 The stencil is from 77propeller, from Slovakia. Check out their website, they have a lot of perfect products there. 77propeller.com/?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAabTL2dnS4Jor8MKL0qiNcueoPbfo6Vfeo4qXlwI93EUq0oSf7IUrDzJZWI_aem_0C2r3s_aKdmBRXYACLZNkA

Great how to video, but the star and bar decal on the right top wing drove me crazy. Is there a reference to put it on the back edge of the wing?
@Model_AddictАй бұрын
Thank you! The star decal on the top part of the wing is roughly centered on the Hornets. Here, it seems to be positioned very far back. However, note that the control surfaces are not yet attached, which is why it appears this way. You can find photos of Hornets where this is clearly visible. www.seaforces.org/usmcair/VMFA/VMFA-232_DAT/VMFA-232-Red-Devils-157.jpg

To thin oil paints and enamel washes, I use Odorless Thinner from Ammo. It's important to have the surface coated with a glossy varnish. If the surface is matt, the wash won't spread as smoothly.

What double sided tape did you use for the camouflage friend?
@Model_AddictАй бұрын
Hey there!👋 It's just regular double-sided tape from a hobby store. Nothing special. It just needs to stick well and be thin.

The Zero was the first Japanese warplane made with a lightweight, corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy. The aircraft manufacturers went further with anti-corrosion treatment by spraying Aotake dope on all bare parts, Mitsubishi and Nakajima green for all engine bay and cockpit structures, and a hideous red-oxide on the fuselage, with the exception of fabric-covered flight surfaces.

Hello, I really liked the modifications you have made to the F-18 model to leave the flaps down (believe me, I am interested, I have three F-18s of different brands, Hasegawa, Revell, and Academy :) ); I only have one doubt, is the instrument you use to mark rivets an airbrush needle (I'm not referring to the Trumpeter riveter, I do have that one)? Kind regards
@Model_Addict2 ай бұрын
Thank you for your support.😊 It's not a needle from an airbrush but a sharpened sculpting tool. It wasn't sharp enough out of the box, so I sharpened it, and now I use it for creating rivets wherever it fits.👋
