Another brilliant video colin, appreciate the work you put in, just wondering as I’m looking for quieter spots of the Trent if you could put me on to a book or day ticket stretch that has a lot less people than say the a1 pits or collingham stretches, thanks in advance 👍🏻

Great video again Colin the sort of fishing that motivates me to put more into my own fishing. Star light and tincas from a venue like that lovely stuff. Great effort as well tackling up at 3am that's brilliant - it's all about the adventure. The big one will soon be in your net I'm sure 👍🏻

Quality fish col. Been a very long time since I fished leven. It's very much like the barrow canal I fish here in Ireland. Do you ever rake the swim I do it's. Very productive when I do. Like leven very weedy

Remember! Keep yourself safe on any canal. I would always recommend having someone with you especially if fishing at 3 am in total darkness.

In the US we have the American Meteor Society, you can report fireballs you see and they try to triangulate the entry/path based on what people say (and you can read other people's reports). Not sure if you got something like that or are interested in that but maybe you want to look into it if the thing you saw had any size to it.

I love fishing at that time in the morning, I've been fishing my local pond for tench from 4am through to 7.30 I'm limited for time due to work but it's a magical time to be fishing. Very tough where I fish with lots of Lillie's and cabbage but so satisfying when you catch.

The first fish I caught was a Gudgeon about 1943, on Calderstones lake Liverpool on a bent pin & and a swan feather on a cane cut from the garden area I still have my alcocks Gloris rod bought from Witty,s in Basnet St, 1959,?. & a little green with my name scratched on it & 1944 I often wonder if not knowingly we could of caught a record fish but very unlikely. Not done any fishing for a very long time I'm afraid. High there a few years ago I fished from the very boat you fished from, and I thought it was the worst fishing trip I had ever gone on anywhere. We had a female skipper who got all the trolling lines tangled up after about 45minutes and the deckhand couldn't be arsed untangling the lines, so they handed us these tiny rods that kids would use with hooks that you would use for small trout. No one caught anything big enough to top a pizza. So your fish was far bigger than we caught.
