Great technique, I saw Des Taylor use this method in a video years ago using spinshot hooks which are hard to get now but I like the idea of the float stops either side of the dropshot hook but this method got me my biggest ever canal perch of a fish well over 2lb

Trip down memory lane with this video, caught my first barbel some 35 years ago from that stretch just upstream from your last peg. 8lb and my hands were shaking upon netting it ! Not as prolific as the Trent, but Swale barbel fight like tigers! Well done.

Cant belive that this video was filmed 6 DAYS AGO. Our club has a brilliant stretch on the upper Seven. Last year between July and August most members were catching double figure Barbel and some cracking Chub. This year NOTHING. We are very accomplished anglers and ine of our members is quite famous for his Barbel angling, writing vast amounts of articles on Barbel fishing. Even he has had ZERO results on our two mile stretch of river. POLLUTION is the reason. I cant belive we as anglers are paying an annual fee to fish a now declining and ever increasing killing if our lovely river by the water companies who continue to pump raw sewage yet still pay out bonuses to share holders annually. Disgusting and criminal. They should all be prosecuted.
