Mabel Normand is exploited by using her name in reference to an addiction she never had. Ms Nicks owes an apology to Mabel Normand and a BIG Fat Donation to The TUBERCULOSIS Charity the Illness which Mabel Suffered and died of. The music may be good quite possibly but the lyrics are an insult to The genius and wholeness of Mabel Normand and her amazing contribution to Motion Pictures as a Woman pioneer Director Producer Actress star of the Motion Picture Industry over shadowing Chaplin Sennett & Goldwyn as a Woman of many talents…Ms Nicks needs to rewrite her lyrics as to Mabel Normand based on facts rather than unproven accusations which she so naively believed..all she had to do was contact The Mabel Normand Family Estate to confirm the facts..

Stevie Nicks wrote “Garbo” in response to being pressured by Buckingham and Lorrie Sullivan to take off her shirt for a photo shoot. Lindsey told her to stop acting like a f*ing child when she spoke out against it. The photo became this album cover. She was never comfortable with it. Maybe the OP could replace it with a different still photo…in support of and solidarity with Stevie…and all the other women in entertainment whose boundaries were not respected.

She’s very stoic. Steeled. Maybe even guarded. Who can blame her? If you read the comments in this thread, people throw shade her way all the time. She knows what she knows, she does what she does, and she’s good at it. She doesn’t owe anyone a single smile, giggle, or whatever else would make her more “digestible”. If she were a man with this same demeanor, no thought would be given to how she’s acting.
