you seem knowledgeable with cresties and i have a question that nobody's been able to answer for me 😭 for about 2 years now my crestie's been stuck in "mating mode", always aggressive and biting, always doing the mating call. he wasn't like this before. any way to snap him out of it? thanks for any reply 🙏

Hey @robbysreptiles, I am starting to get into crested gecko breeding and I have a pair I’m going to get in a week or so and I have a big tank for them that I want to keep them in year round but is that a good idea or should I put them in to breed and then take them out while she lays the eggs?
@SocraticMethodGuy15 күн бұрын
most people live thier lives like these geckos, and daddy government is the breeder. they know this and willingly choose to continue to be a gecko and live a safe, boring af life, then discarded when theyre not useful to the breeder anymore. as you can see, these geckos want nothing to do with tolerating human handling.

My girl is a red bicolor, and I think she is a soft scale. She fires up to a deep bright red, and even fired down she is always a nice orange. Her scales seem farther apart, though I haven't looked with a magnifying glass yet. Also, at 9 months she is 30 grams.

My geckos head and body looks exactly like your perfect example gecko. He’s a boy and he’s almost 6 years old and I’ve always been worried he to skinny I’ve tried EVERYTNING you can imagine to try to get him to eat bugs but he refuses and only like Pangea. I got him from a Vet student at 4 years old and he was even more skinny then but I switched to higher nutrition food and he gained a little more weight but looks exactly almost to the size of yours he could be a tiny tiny bit smaller but barley noticeable and it worries me! this is relieving to hear

I watch your videos and you do say the dimensions of the different enclosures but there's always another topic that comes into the convo so it's hard to keep track of size specifics between the different ages you keep. I'm doing some research to see what space I'd need to start up a gecko breeding system for myself with your tubs and age system. It'd be really awesome to know like if you could express like "i keep hatchlings in these dimension tubs with this size vent hole. I keep Juvies in these dimensions with this size vent and I keep adults alone in these and breeders in these in groups of so and so" Sorry to ask something so silly. I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know :D
@robbysreptiles2 ай бұрын
Not a silly question! I keep babies in 6qt tubs with 2 inch or 3 inch vents, I keep juveniles in the tall narrow tubs from the container store they are 6 inch wide, 18inch deep 12 inch tall. Other sized tubs would work too just an in-between from baby to adult tubs. I keep adults in 12x12x18 in tubs with 6 inch vents, I reccomend 4 or 5 inch better though

We have been vending shows in North Carolina for a year now. I have made some online sales, but definitely not enough to get our business up and running. I love the people interaction and sharing the passion, but boy is the weekend long and when you stack a lot of shows up it is tiring. Some geckos don't do well going to a show every weekend for several weekends in a row. I am packing up today for our third show weekend in a row and about 1/4 of the geckos we took to the last show are going to stay home this weekend because they just haven't been eating enough to make them do another weekend. Our long term goal is to do most of our sales online and then a few shows a year rather than relying on shows to bring in most of the cash flow for the business. :-D Thanks for the video!
