We have been vending shows in North Carolina for a year now. I have made some online sales, but definitely not enough to get our business up and running. I love the people interaction and sharing the passion, but boy is the weekend long and when you stack a lot of shows up it is tiring. Some geckos don't do well going to a show every weekend for several weekends in a row. I am packing up today for our third show weekend in a row and about 1/4 of the geckos we took to the last show are going to stay home this weekend because they just haven't been eating enough to make them do another weekend. Our long term goal is to do most of our sales online and then a few shows a year rather than relying on shows to bring in most of the cash flow for the business. :-D Thanks for the video!

Great Vid! Last month I went to the Cin City Reptile Show which is around the Cincinnati Ohio area. I saw a older guy, maybe in his 50s, walking around with a $2k priced baby capp. It didn't look amazing. I found the seller and over heard him talking about the Capps he's sold every month. All to say - I was shocked people were able to sell $2k geckos at this small local reptile show.

WOW! Yeah when I start selling caps (If i ever freaking make any) they would be in that $1500-$4k range depending on the outcross.

@@robbysreptiles ha! Yeah I would have figured you could only sell "high end" geckos online or at a big show like Tinley... but people drop big money on snakes at little shows so I guess why not geckos also.

I can't imagine how you would be in person with people, with how you treated me with an online sale. Responded with in minutes to my inquire, answered EVERY question and even worked with me with shipping dates. My daughter makes me send Robby weight updates on Instagram and he always responds to them, which means more to my 11 year old then he will ever know. Thank you for our Lilly White and she is up to 8.6 grams and moving soon to a converted 10gallon tank. My daughter Em says Robby Rocks!

That SA show was packed! There is also one more show locally in Schertz put on by Lonestar Reptile Expos. About the size of the McQueeny shows but a bit better imo. They have one coming up on the 15th and 16th if you wanted to scout one to see if it’s one you’d be interested in vending in the future

Yeah I was kinda just averaging it all out. Some are only 30 min away like the San antonio show and Arlington is 3 hours and 50 min it looks like which is doable for local stuff

the mystery box is cool af any way i could use that lmao? jk but thats amazing wish id have thought of it first love the content man been on the verge of trying too dip my toe into breeding but want to make sure i get good structure and a few morphs i really like which is proving too be more difficult than thought/ really been looking at the likeit stacks like you have or the exo tera method and was curious other than cost per setup is there any other up sides too the tub method i figure time space? maybe?... either way love the geckos man keep killing it

Hey Robby 👋, so I have a pair I’m breeding and the female dropped her first ever clutch with one egg being fertile and the other barely having a red ring, now a month later she has laid the second clutch and they are both infertile. Is it something I’m doing or did the male simply not get it done

The male didn't shoot it all up in her, just repair them and she will be good to go

@@robbysreptiles that’s the thing, I’ve been giving her bowls of calcium with her food so all her eggs have been thick, but the infertile ones do have a strange shape . Almost like a little dent

That's maybe because of a dry laybox. I would caution with how much calcium you give them. I have heard it may cause a calcium crash

Edit: I was given clarification saw this coming because you didn’t agree with vending but you bought reptiles at shows it didn’t make sense if contamination was your main issue lmao

I have heard alot of horror stories of some people's collections being affected by either mites or RIs. So it was a definite concern of mine in general, but crested geckos don't really commonly get sick from my experience

@@Privateharvest ohhh gotcha, well when you buy from a show you have to take the necessary precautions, inspect the animals thoroughly and quarantining etc
