I have had a lot of grief with both the Graphgear 1000 and Pentel P200 pencils, both 0.3mm leads. Any make of 0.5 mm pencil works. For 0.3 mm leads I have moved to the Staedtler 925, which, in my opiniom can't be beat. For very fine detail (eyes) I have just acquired a Nero Orenz 0.2 mm which seems to do the job.
@Sciart26 күн бұрын
I would agree with that, completely. The Orenz is good for fine leads. You could try different 0.3mm lead suppliers to see if they make a difference. There was a solid fine grip pencil with 0.3mm called the Golden Axe which I think was a Mitsubishi sub-brand. That’s quite a nice pencil if you like a narrow long metal grip. With 0.3 mm and below, I think the choices are very personal, and what works for some doesn’t work for others.

I got a beaded pattern off of Etsy but when I tried to bring it into the beaded tool software it’s burry when I transfer it. So how do you transfer a beaded pattern so you can change or add text to the pattern?
@Sciart2 ай бұрын
Hello thank you for your question. I assume that you mean something is blurry? I’m not sure I understand the question. Are you importing a picture? In which case any bead tool will do its best, but unless the edges of the pattern are clear and match exactly with the grid, then I imagine you will always get staggered or blurry edges. And it all depends on the size. Unfortunately I can’t comment on the adaptation of an existing pattern. It’s real easy to create your own pattern from photos or drawing it in.

I like your presentation on mechanical pencils. I like to draw with a 2.0mm with the lead extended and laid on an angle for a calligraphy effect while keeping the tip sharp for accuracy. I was looking for a 0.9 mm for the same style of drawing but I haven’t found one.However I did notice that the super promecha seems to be capable of a flared effect in this way.Thanks for sharing.

0.9mm is not very common these days. I really like Ohto a small independent maker which produce all their own pens and pencils. You can get 1.3mm leads and there are quite a few makers of those.

As I decided to learn to draw, I have come to appreciate 2.0mm mechanical pencils. Looking forward for a 5.6mm clutch pen in the future. Mechanical Pencils have been a staple of my education, so I have a big soft spot for them. They are inexpensive, reliable and allow for corrections.

Hi, thank you for your question. I don't have a video about stitching the squares together. It sounds like there's something there to explain. I shall certainly think about doing one on this, and particularly about sewing peyote pieces together. The only thing I would be careful about is the off set between different squares - you might have to consider on row difference between the square if you want then squares to sit level - if you follow my thoughts. Hello! I can make my own patterns on paper but is there a way on how to tell how big the jewelry piece will be like to scale? Many paper ones have large beads
@Sciart Жыл бұрын
Hello, thank you for the question. When I first started designing my own pieces, I started with graph paper. However I found it such a nuisance when I wanted to change it I would have to redraw it entirely, I then tried Excel, which was just as tricky and neither of these ways helped with knowing the final size. There are various bead software tools that really take the pain out of the design. Some are cheap and cheerful, others complex, some you hold the work on your computer/tablet, others the designs are held on their servers. Some don’t work on Apple, or mobile devices. However they will all give you an ‘approximate’ size. It all depends on how accurate you want to be. So one suggestion is (and I do this myself) I will do a test piece, measure the size of the test of the test piece, and if this matches, I can be sure that the real piece will match the designed piece size. So I would recommend investing a least a little in a bead software tool, that way you can dial in the size that you want, and design to the size. They all allow you to choose a palette - for instance Miyuki Delicas or Toho Aikos, or seed beads of various sizes. I found that looking for the right tool for me, improved my efficiency in design enormously! And I could get on with the beading. I do hope that helps. Thank you for watching.

You speak so clearly and I’ve really enjoyed your video, however, it would have been so much easier to see if you had used larger beads and maybe a darker colour, not one that blends in with your skin. Just for future reference, I’m a visual learner rather than hearing so I really struggled doing this circle. I made too many mistakes. I actually gave up in the end. I am going to try again though. Thanks for taking the time and energy to share you talent. ❤

Hello, I have been asked about close ups a few times about this particular video, which is about 4 years old now. Since then I have invested in a better video camera. And since I have had so many requests for information on how to do bead circles I plan (when I get a chance) to do another update on this, with better closeups and diagrams. Do try again, it's really interesting when it works, also don't draw the thread too tight, and get good quality seed beads, of consistence size throughout. I hope that helps. thank you for watching

Hi, the step up is a tricky thing to learn at first, but once you get it, you will wonder why you had any problems at all! Think about going all the way around through each bead and then go through the first one you added on the row you have just completed. Then you will be ready to start the next row. I hope that helps. It’s also tricky to explain! Thank you for watching
