Before I turn a waxed canvas bag I heat it up with a hairdryer. So much easier… like buttah!

Look likes it has a needle feed also, compound feed so an improvement for feeding heavier fabrics. Leather should be a breeze

Love the wool fabric! But where did you get the beautiful blue waxed canvas that you used on the bottom of your practice bag? I would love to get some as it looks like the perfect color to go with the vinyl i have for my bag.

Loved video! Following the waxed canvas / ironing comments during the live and wanted to say that the only solution I have found was to use faux waxed canvas. Sallie Tomato sells it. It looks like waxed canvas, but it is really just canvas and can be interfaced 🩷.

It’s really hard to cut into that wool. I go to a local store and get the scrap wool and they are very expensive too.

I am so bumbled I missed this. I so have questions to you ladies who have been using industrial machines. I had planned on looking into getting one next year, but it looks like that timeframe is being moved up and I just need to know what I can do not have to replace it in a year because that’s what I’ve been having to do or in six months like my machine just either wears out or it breaks. My local sewing center out of Tucson has a Janome HD nine but I’m worried it’s not going to sell the bags that I want to make so I just wanted to get some advice.

Hi there! My Facebook group is an amazing place to ask questions just like this! I would say personally, having sewn on all sorts of machines, if bagmaking is your ultimate goal, industrial is the type of machine you need to get. HD9 is great if you need to travel with your machine and can do most of it, but not all.

Donate before throwing away. DV shelters have women that can’t afford supplies and they could use them to get started.

Kassiah, I got a whole set of accessory feet for my 1341 clone on Amazon. They’re totally worth the money and they make your life so much easier. They’re totally worth the money. The only foot it didn’t include was the skinny foot and I wound up ordering that from Sunny Sewing out of Dallas. I’m betting your industrial shop there in Colorado stocks them. Thanks so much for the tutorial! Best wishes, Tammy Burk

Does anybody know where we can get the pattern for this? I've looked on the website, they're not available there. I went to another online shop and it was like $4 or $5 more expensive to buy the pattern.

In response to your comments about glueing the purse feet. In our soft sculpture group, we make arm and leg joints with wooden discs, nuts, washers, and bolts. We apply a drop of gel super glue to the nut to prevent them from loosening later. It's not as messy as the liquid glue.😊
@SiahSwag11 күн бұрын
I will definitely have to try that!
