I went to an airshow once where someone had a C130 about as big as that. It flew about for a while then he did a pass over the runway at about 50 feet. The back ramp came down and about a 100 parachuters came out. They were actually wooden clothes pegs painted to look like paratroopers, each on a hanky sized parachute. Looked absolutely amazing, but I wondered how they were going to find them all and gather them back up. Then the genius came when the guy's wife opened a big box with 100 Mars bars in it and told all the kids they could have a Mars bar for each paratrooper they found.

I like how one of the pilots was calling out maneuvers for the others to follow. That's a great way to keep everybody in the same pattern and avoid mid-air collisions! Well done sir!

I loved this video of the Fly Baby. It sure brought back fond memories! Pete Bowers kept his original Fly Baby at Kent Airpark, where we kept our Taylorcraft L2. He let me taxi it up and down the runway a few times, getting up on the main wheels. I never did get the chance to solo it, as I left for college. It was sure fun to taxi, though!

I've watched a lot of RC videos and I can't help thinking that there has to be a better way of getting an internal combustion motor on a model aircraft up and running.

In 1963 my father began to build a real fly baby. He constructed the tail rudder first on the kitchen floor. The rest was finished in the cellar. Painted in the garage. It first left the ground april of 67. flue out of SKY Haven airport' Tunkhannock, Pa.

OUTSTANDING !! You need to fit a mini camera in the cockpit that would be cool! or a go pro? In my few months of flying RC I always disorientated when its flying TOWARDS me so the cotrols are reversed!
Are you auditioning for the dambusters? …or what?!? 😮
@TC-qd1zw7 күн бұрын
Sad when you only see two bladed props, with all the work done. Spoils it for me.
@tbobborap16 күн бұрын
The reason most modelers only use two bladed props on their scale models is because most models only have a single cylinder two stroke engine in it and these engines simply do not produce any where Near enough power to turn a scale 3 or 4 bladed prop fast enough to get the model off the ground. That is why they are turning 2 blade props to suit the power output of the single cylinder engine, Don’t forget the real aircraft had V12 or 18 cylinder radial aero engines in them and the power to weight ratio is a lot different on a model aero engine - the bigger 250cc & 450cc (5 and 7 cylinders) radial engines can turn bigger 3 or 4 bladed props on them but they still might not be full scale props, and these big 3 or 4 blade props cost into the hundreds of pounds and if the model noses over the props are destroyed, imagine doing that 2 or 3 times over a weekend ! most people simply cannot afford such luxuries and resort to cheaper smaller models with cheaper smaller engines and props, Hope this info helps !
