In 1963 my father began to build a real fly baby. He constructed the tail rudder first on the kitchen floor. The rest was finished in the cellar. Painted in the garage. It first left the ground april of 67. flue out of SKY Haven airport' Tunkhannock, Pa.

I loved this video of the Fly Baby. It sure brought back fond memories! Pete Bowers kept his original Fly Baby at Kent Airpark, where we kept our Taylorcraft L2. He let me taxi it up and down the runway a few times, getting up on the main wheels. I never did get the chance to solo it, as I left for college. It was sure fun to taxi, though!

I've watched a lot of RC videos and I can't help thinking that there has to be a better way of getting an internal combustion motor on a model aircraft up and running.

yes there is and its called a starter, just like on an automobile. but most pilots state price and extra weight as why they dont get them.

agreed but then the pilot would push the model over its 24kg weight limit so the owner decided to leave it out !
