Your axel is looking close! Try to keep the right shoulder a bit further back (stepping more side ways) instead of bringing it so forward when stepping to it, it'll be easier to generate spin on the edge without going on a skid (which is one way of doing it, but not easy for beginners). You can do it 💪 I was thinking of getting the Risport Royal Primes you have. How you like them?

Wow! You have made lots of progress! I'm very impressed with your jumps!! I'm a yoga teacher for adult figure skaters (and in my adult figure skating journey too). I just started sharing helpful yoga content specifically for those of us who started figure skating "late". Thank you for sharing your progress, keep up the good work!!

I love that you are getting out there and trying something you love, good for you it's admirable. I went through that too in my post-Olympics fever. But, if you really want to "be in the zone" of the competitive skater, the first thing is to adopt a diet more like those of competitive skaters. It's one example of where the normally low IQ "trend brain" is actually useful. So things like smoothies, no fast food, no cheese (which I believe causes breast cancer) etc. I didn't have to give up the things I really loved like chocolate but I found it easy to give up the stuff I sort of liked such as bread products, muffins etc. Congrats on the lutz, I struggled with that too and a few minutes later accepted I probably would never do a double. Try to get more height with your single lutz. All I care about is double axel and maybe the skid spiral or I-spin. David Lease is so good at spins I don't know why his jumps aren't better! Ppl should know you don't need to skate to figure skate!!

Seriously, thank you. It's people like you who make me feel excited and comfortable with skating as an adult, and to share my adult skating journey. I'm 22 now, and I've wanted to skate for 6 years ever since watching Yuri on Ice (lmao), but never started. I have some issues with my feet, for context, but 6 months ago, I finally contacted my "local" skate dealer, who kindly provided me with my first pair of figure skates, Jackson Artiste. And they made them fit my feet so it isn't too painful! I started skating 4 months ago, and I am so so excited to learn. I'm only taking group lessons and practice with my skating friends in our own time. My biggest goal and dream for 6 years has just been to land a pretty, proper waltz jump. I'm a bit eager, and practice it even though we're not doing anything remotely close to jumping during group lessons, but I'm landing it on the wall! Almost without touching the wall. 3-turns are getting better, crossovers are improving, I can do those faster and faster... I'm really grateful to have watched these kinds of videos throughout the last few years to really hype me up, keep it up!🤩
@ImoneOnIce Жыл бұрын
This comment made me smile! Thank you! Good on you for getting your skates and getting stuck in, sounds like you're making so much progress towards that Waltz jump already, won't be long! 3-turns and crossovers took me AGES to get comfortable with so that's fantastic at 4 months. Keep smashing it and keep me posted on your progress! 💪 xx
@cranma0125 Жыл бұрын
@@ImoneOnIce Thank you! Everything is improving, steady but slowly. I'm doing waltz jumps away from the wall, from a backwards skating entrance now! Well, I only jump like 20% of them beacause it also terrifies me at the same time so I bail out at the last minute😂 But, during spin-practice (two foot spins now with 5 rotations) I decided to try a scratch spin today, just for the fun of it, I didn't really expect anything since I can't even do a one foot spin, but I did 1 whole rotation AND a little baby-exit! I'm so excited ahaha🤣 So thankful my friend is getting it all on video

@@ImoneOnIce Lol hey, just watched your channel again, specifically your videos on Coronation ace blades, since I'll be upgrading to them within a month! Super excited. I also completely forgot I wrote this comment, it's so fun to read back now, with me struggling with the waltz jump so much🤣 Anyways, I'm currenly baby steps away from landing lutz🫣 I'm a quarter of a rotaion away from landing off ice axel, and half a rotation away from landing off ice double salchow. Still as excited as ever!! Especially with the new blades coming. Hopre you're doing alright❤

Does the u shape collar makes it harder to balance/ easier to pronate? Do you notice any weight difference between prime nd RF 3?
@ImoneOnIce Жыл бұрын
Great question, I probably found it harder to adjust to the tongue shape more than the collar. The collar allows much more movement than my last skates. Weight wise, I initially thought the Royal Primes were slightly heavier... I've adjusted to them fine now though :)

How in the world do you get the entire rink to yourself??? Even when other people are present, there are only say 5 or less !? Must be nice. My rink is always crowded.... public, freestyle whatever. Hope you understand how lucky you are. Second thing - at the end when you are ending your session and holding the camera at arms length...... Your face is WAY to BIG in frame. Get yourself a selfie stick or something. How can you not see this during edit. Do you stand two inches away from someone in person during conversation?? Seriously - it is very unsettling to watch! Back the Camera Up !!!

Hi! I have these skates and have the same problem with the lace hole attacking the laces. I’ve had to change my laces 3x in 2 weeks. We’re you able to find a solution for this? Thanks!
@ImoneOnIce Жыл бұрын
I tried using some pliers to shave down the metal but it didn't work for long! I had to resort to avoiding the loops and lacing through the hooks only. It's not caused any issues with stability but it was annoying!
