I'm glad my video was able to help you though I'm not sure what you mean, are you asking if I have a Simon Sez with a pull string or are you asking about a different puppet?

basically Simon has a stick with trigger inside that pushes mouth open. I think yours is pulling a string down the stick.​@@oxleymations

@@rensmooth Ah, okay now I see what you're saying, yeah with Danny O'Day here his mouth is operated by pulling down on a string, oddly though the Juro Novelty Company(the people who made this puppet) decided to still have the string come out of the back of the neck like the puppet dolls so you've got to hold the head up out of the body a little bit otherwise the string gets stuck between the base of the neck and the opening in the body.

They're pretty good, the little sugar crystals in the frosting give them a slightly odd texture but once you get beyond that they're good.

Thank you, I just kind of wish these had been released a month ago so I could have tried them on May the 4th, that would've really tied this whole theme together lol

@@metalghost9 They are really good for just having differently colored frosting in the middle, plus the fact that they've got the Star wars characters printed into the cookie is pretty cool too!

You can always try Facebook marketplace, that's where I've been finding most of the puppets I've gotten recently and most of them were in the $20 to $50 range

I'll admit that I wasn't a huge fan of them either because of the reasons I mentioned here, the flavor was okay but the rest of the experience was not great

I actually just did a live stream where I worked on a very similar puppet(it has the same head stick it's just a different character) I'm assuming that the issue is that the mouth won't close?

I'm very glad that this video has been helpful to you, I should let you know though that those Jerry Mahoney puppets(I'm assuming that's who you mean when you said large Jerrys) have a bit of a different setup in their heads than these Danny O'Days do, for Jerry you'll have to remove the lower jaw and attack a new elastic band, or rubber band, to the hook inside his head at the back and then stretch that up over the bar that the jaw sits on and attach it to the hook in the back of the jaw, hopefully that makes sense.

@@oxleymations- Thanks; and yes, it does. The difficultly for me with the Jerry Mahoney's is, that unlike the Danny O'days which are made of vinyl/pvc, the Jerry heads are made of a hard material [composite?] and I would hate to accidentally crack anything while trying to get the jaw free. On the other hand, I think the jaw set-up on the bigger Danny on a stick - where the jaw sort of hangs free on the bar - is the absolute best jaw/hinge set-up which Juro - and later, Goldberger produced 30" no-stick models - used. Some of the jaw/hinge designs used over the years were awful in terms of the action they failed to deliver. Whereas, the big head Danny on a stick jaw set-up is easy-peasy and works (until repair is needed) like a champ; and gave me "jack-rabbit" like action with instant and firm return action. Some of the Goldberger jaw/hinge designs barely actuate in comparison. I'd like to see someone come up with a 'conversion kit' to up-grade any Juro/Goldberger figure to the Big Head Danny-style jaw/hinge set-up - for maximum action and ease of repair.

@@BaronMcCausland From what I understand about it the head stick Jerry's heads are basically made from the same kind of plastic as those unbreakable combs they used to make, the original cloth bodied doll versions of them had composition heads and hands at first before the Juro Novelty Company switched over to plastic heads and hands later on. One thing that has always confused me was that they never produced a head stick version of Knucklehead Smiff.

It's fine, it wasn't out for long but I felt the need to record the moment for posterity's sake. Thank you for your concern though.
