This is a very good story of Callum and Brooke, in which Brooke learns that not everything that she has believed about Callum’s family lines up with the truth. It has Christian themes clearly stated. The author herself reads the book, which is neat, though she is not as polished as some narrators. But it’s not AI, which I really appreciate! I look forward to reading or listening to more by Willow White. Thanks for sharing it with us listeners!

Are bi laws really a legal thing that churches have trouble with I mean I know bylaws exist in real life but do you need them for legal reasons
@freechristianaudiobooks12 күн бұрын
My (limited) understanding is that a church needs bylaws in order for it to be tax exempt.

Other than that I am a woman, I relate to Cody & his "issues" a LOT. For ex. the stuff shared at the coffee meeting w Ruby at about the 3 & a half hour mark. So, others like us out there, whom "other others" made that way, and then we have to endure being told we overthink things etc. , whether we do unreasonably so or not, or have really good reasons that they don't really know or understand, or not.. you're not alone. I get it. I like u just fine the way u r, and trust that if you're a growing Christian, you and God got this. Advice to the "others" - a simple loving and respectful assurance that you, for one, don't think anything about the situation/aren't a cause for us to "overthink" things or be hyper sensitive, is all we need. Sadly, some seriously impactful experiences mold us into this, esp. if oft-repeated, esp. if by a parent and lasting for decades. Esp. if exacerbated by actually not being allowed to not let it bother us, or whatever. Esp. if we didn't "get out much" , have any other strong adults in our lives who had an agressive-enough & opposite view or way of treating us. Esp. if we had to stay there til well into adulthood. When you belittle and bully us for being different, for not being cool enough... you're basically doing the same thing our parent or whoever did. Bullying and shaming us into what they think they want from us, incl. for us to be less irritating. Less weird. Less of an embarrassment to them. Less pathetic. More cool. Born with maximum common sense, and according to their idea of what we ought to be born knowing, understanding, doing and remembering... pretty perfectly. So, thanks for that, you "others" out there. The addtl. hurt, pressure and so on is so helpful to us as we try to heal and move on and relax and be cool... .

Wow, thank you for sharing! 💚 I've had people in church leadership argue with me, but I really believe the church needs the sensitive people. I can't imagine a hurting person being attracted to a body of callous people. May God bless you mightily! --Robin

On Cody's " I'm pretty sure it's hard to share the gospel in lyrics without mentioning the gospel" .. ( paraphrase mine) .. while I'm not saying to never come out and explicitly share it, or denying the real need for that, I can think of at least a few country songs that have done a decent job of pointing to it. " I love you this much" (by... Jimmy Wayne ?) came to mind. Funeral scene : " then he looked up above the preacher, and he sat and stared Him.. And he said "Forgive me father" as he realized, that he hadn't been alone or unloved all his life. His arms were stretched out as far as they go, nailed to the cross, for the whole world to know... " I love you, this much, and I'm waitin on you, to make up your mind, do you love me too.. " ( the same chorus as b4, now in reference to Jesus. Any paraphrase mine). I mean, it very nearly DOES expressly give the gospel, more than most, yet until that part of the song you have NO idea it's Christ-honoring, or coming... . Pretty awesome.

We are working on it! Real narrators take a LOT of resources. They cost time and money. While we are working on getting the real narrations, we are posting these books so that we can get as much edifying content out there as fast as possible. And we do have lots of readers who listen to these versions. In addition, we've had readers who've requested that we produce auto-narrated versions even of the books that have been read by a human. So for the time being, we are working on posting two versions of each book. Thank you for reading!

An awesome end to the series! I easily identified with the different scenarios, and the believable characters-- who made me laugh out loud so many times! I love that there are many biblical principles and the Full Gospel are woven into the stories, too. I encourage other readers to be sure to read all three volume in this series. Volume two and three continue on from the closing of the first book. ...And by time you get to book three, you'll feel like all the loveable characters are old friends!

Thanks for saying it's a good book! It takes hundreds of dollars and hours to produce a human-narrated audiobook, and yet, we are working on it. These auto-narrated books are only placeholders as we record the human-read versions. We are trying to get as much love and light out into the world as fast as we can, taking full advantage of the technologies gifted to us. Thank you for your patience.
