I want to see this content. I had to download the video and notch out 3khz, 6khz, 9khz, and 12khz to make it possible to keep listening without feeling like needles are being stabbed into my brain. There are probably higher frequencies there too, but I can't hear them on this setup so I'm good.

Bad DC-DC power supply in the camera? I hate that such interesting content has this whine.

Some kind of improperly applied noise cancellation? That high pitched whine is unbearable.

Where is that coil whine coming from? There's a tired SMPS somewhere near the camera.

theyre missing something here... something vital... why expand the compressed air into the cylinder, only to have it re-compressed with pumping losses? why not inject direct into the combustion chamber? why bother with an intake stroke at all? why does the compression part have to be a "stroke"? i love the concept. it just isnt being thought through fully... a change in cams, get rid of "otto" and his "stuck in the rut" ideas... two stroke, screw scavenging, exhaust closes BTDC, then inject fresh compressed air along with fuel and ignite. with extractors you might be able to get a bit of scavenge through the intake valves.. iunno... doesnt matter! need to contemplate compound turbochargers... can get pressures coming close to a standard compression ratio as it is... why bother with the intake and compression strokes at that point? and why store compressed air in a tank when you can produce it? lot of excess heat in an engine going to waste... unthink how an engine works. tear it down and re-examine what we have, what works, what doesnt... why we do things a certain why. is there another way to achieve the same result? weve plodded along with otto and his "fourstroke" as its simple and it worked with what they had at the time. now we should know better but stick to the same old methodology. they didnt have turbochargers or forged alloy pistons... they had steam engines that they basically strapped ignition and carburettors to. then a car industry was born and engines became ubiquitous.. and now we have ingrained habits. rotaries suck (i love them still!), but what if they ran turbo-compound drive shaft turbines to get a bit more energy from the gas? post combustors for cleaner burns? a turbine engine that uses a piston (rotor)based "expander" to extract useful power and torque at useful speeds, and allow for far higher compression ratios than otherwise possible... things like iunno, brayton cycles, where the fuel and air is burnt externally, then expanded in the piston... etc, etc... this is a breath of fresh air but its still so... stagnant. the whole other aspect is when you move into aero using the heat dumped by that engine as well...

You could also use a turbo…instead of being run by the exhaust…you can pressurize the bad housing w compressed air.

I remember maybe 20 - 30 years ago I wondered why they was not using compressed air instead of super chargers in drag cars... I asked this several mechanics that was into tuning engines and they just looked at me like I was a idiot and said that is impossible.
@alexcorona10 ай бұрын
It has been in use for decades, it’s called nitrous.

What if you used their butterfly cutoff manifold system and fed it compressed air through a supercharger that was controlled by an electric/ magnetic clutch like an ac compressor clutch, so you had boost on demand with a button and could also run naturally aspirated eco-mode too?

Can I ask if you explored using the coolth created by the decompressing air as alternative to an air/oil or air/water cooler? Also, have you considered rigging up a compressor into the system to refill the cylinders or at least not deplete them so quickly?

I'd be happy with 14.7 psia, instead of the 12.5 I have to work with here. I'm doing 11.7's and I'd be in the 10's at sea level. Any feezing problems cwith the 3300 psig to 120 drop? So, when it's on the air, it's running on pressure alone?

Years ago, I was using compressed air from an industrial compressor to blow out the air filter on a Toyota forklift. The thought of CA Supercharging entered my mind. I started the forklift, floored the throttle then sprayed the compressed air into the inlet. The engine revs increased dramatically, then BOOM! Bye bye engine. I think it over-revd and threw a rod. I think an electronic rev limiter, boost controller, fuel management system would have kept it together. I knew it was something that would work well. This was over 20yrs ago.

I've been a car guy all my life, but when I began scuba diving 40 some years ago I got to thinking about the volume of compressed air and wondered if I could use it to supercharge the engine, same idea as yours, but I was just a kid really with no idea of how to increase the flow and regulate it, knew I needed a kind of priority valve in the intake to switch from ambient air to compressed, but didn't know all the details. Now I feel that you've proven I wasn't a nut back then, I just hadn't grown up enough by then to make it happen. I'm glad to see that you brought my dream to life.

At -80°F the air is 1.5 times as dense as it is at 107F, meaning your 10psi engine consumes as much air as a normal engine at 22psi. This is about air density, talking about boost numbers doesn't do it justice.
