I have both the r8 and the r800i, I have had both of them for over a year, I cannot decide witch one is better. I love them both. (plus side the r8 has a headphone out)

Thanks for all your hard work Thomas. My money has been well spent. I love my EL34. Wow. Not even broken in yet and it's a sublime experience to listen to.

I own SA3 and PA3 stack and I like the way this combo sounds. I'm having issues with the SA3 from the start. I spoke to and emailed Ian owner of the company countless times over the year just to get humiliated by him.... Empty promises, no returned emails at the end.... I will never buy from them again. Also there were other people having same issues with SA3 and the same happened to them. Company will not take care of the problem that they are aware of. Horrible non existing customer service ruined my experience with Iotavx products......

now that's a guy who's PASSIONATE about this hobby. a purist to say the least. this set up truly impresses me. it's not cheap by all means. yet still cost way less than half a Million Dollars that we often see. lastly. if i had these speakers in my house (with W15 Drivers) ?. i would use a solid / thick nice piece of real wood. thanks for sharing

Hi Thomas, I can get the Prologue One for a good price. This would be my first time trying tube. Would they be a good match for my 92db focal towers? They are nominal 8 but can dip to 2.9

I wish all video reviewers would spend some time and take notes on your style, credible content and the conveyance of information. I hereby honor you with the title of "Master Audio Cognoscenti." As a suggestion, the more actual demo of the speakers the better for me. I don't always follow technical details but my ears never let me down. Thank you for your exemplary resource.

Linux, RT kernel + whatever software, optical USB cable between your computer and your DAC. I thought things were amazing under Linux, but swapping out the USB-C copper cable with an optical USB-C cable unlocked even more performance. Side note I run USB to a DDC to convert to I2S (which I tend to prefer over USB to the DAC for any of the DACs I've owned).

Dear Thomas: This is a very old video of yours. Not sure if you'll still read messages posted to it. Regardless, I'll still go ahead to leave you this message. Do you think a pair of Bel Canto Ref1000m will be able to drive the Magnepans well? I'm thinking of giving the Magnepans a try, but I'm not decided on which one it will be.

Is there a big difference expected in sound quality when I use this Denafrips instead of the internal DAC of my Eversolo DMPA6 master edition?

Hearing is dynamic, measurements are static (snapshot). The speed of sound through different alloys is known (and different). Copper - Speed of sound thin rod (annealed) 3810 m/s (at r.t.) Silver - Speed of sound thin rod 2680 m/s (at r.t.) Add the conductivity difference of these two metals you have two measurable criteria. How this translates to 'hearing' the difference - If I want a harder, quicker or etched sound I use silver if the sound is too glassy or harsh I use copper. You have to have a resolving system (speakers) to do this. It doesn't have to be super expensive. Good analogy with food, most people can't tell the difference between a Chardonay and a Chenin Blanc - you have to explain it to them because they have never been told...

😂😂😂 stop fooling yourself and feeding your ego. If you can hear it then it CAN be measured. It is as simple as that. Not a single blind test EVER had any of you believers passing the test all you do is give excuses why you failed 😂😂😂

Not so fast! That product has 40% disapproval rate on Amazon. It will deliver ok-ish in 4 Ohm environment but forget 8 Ohms . You won't hear a thing.

Are you amped up? lol, me too but at lower range. what do you do with amps not in service? Put on the shelf and just look at it? I have Yamaha's, but want to get to Nakamichi. Do not even unterand why my brain says that....maybe just the sound "Nakamichi", and lol do not care about Dragon cassette or speakers, only amp and pre-amp.

Music reproduction is an illusion; tubes are for idiophiles. Get a good av receiver and a screen to improve fun. Hey stop masturbating your wallet with prehistoric tubes technology. Solid state, blutooth, wifi, internet, netflix, spotify, phono, 3 d movies, 4k, atmos, imax. The sound adjustments are far more fun. I use YPAO to balance sound. Oh, with a remote and ease of use for lifetime, not 6 months. Sorry but don't lose your customer with tubes mythology.

I currently use the TS-A75 in a home office it is an eye blinking fabulous good deal however I watched the other video reviews of Thomas flagship amplifiers the A-20 and the TS120 LE . Of all the well done reviews the one that sticks in my head is by the owner of GR Research his very first review of electronic components on his channel. The Galion TS-A75 including TS 120 LE , what stood out to me was his body language and facial expressions while describing the TS 120 LE that spoke volumes to me .

Do you happen to know which model css speakers outperformed the wilsons?
@keithmoriyama54216 күн бұрын
I'll take JBL L300's over a set of Wilson's any day. Even Jay Lee (Jay's iyage) says the best Wilsons don't have the dynamics of JBL. I own a $50K Maggie/REL (line arrays) and a $25K. Accuphase/ Castle Winchester system. JBL kicks the shit out of both of them.

Curious if owners of Billie MK2 could chime in about volume control - lowering the volume, it spikes momentarily. Reducing or turning up the volume it burps quickly. It's not a smooth control, wondering if others have this same issue?
